I was lucky enough to raid the GACTAC at turnover time. Packs here In blue sky today have been underwhelming.

I suspect you'll come across more. Personally, I'm still looking for an Ichiro as I open packs in order to raid the GACTAC. And maybe it's just the Honus Wagner card that was in it, but that 2011 set is looking pretty good to me.
After finishing @jaywigley.bsky.social 's excellent Retrosheet book, finally reading this one was on my docket. Nice little coincidence Vaughan was voted 1st team SS in these results.
I'm wondering if we can swap out slabs. I'm not big on the look of GritzSA, would much prefer an SGritzC look.

It's funny...for whatever reason, my mind only ever thinks of Hornsby and Sisler as 1920s entities. I know that's wrong, but it still happens.

We do have at least one verifiable image of the fire that was set to dry out the infield during the ‘25 Series, but it’s an exterior shot from the front page of the Pittsburgh Sun, which doesn’t give us an idea of the stadium interior. So I’m not sure when the famous image was from.
If you look towards the outfield in that image, the wall runs as we expect it to in the stadium. But this would not have been the case in ‘25, when Pirates management built temporary bleachers to pack more fans in, obscuring the bulk of the outfield wall.
There’s a famous photo of the fire at Forbes Field set during the 1925 World Series to dry out the infield from rain. Problem is, I never thought much about it until someone pointed out today, it’s not an image from the ‘25 World Series.

I remember going to the team pro shop, determined to pick up an Iginla shirsey after he arrived here. Not that I expected he'd last, but because it would be perfectly retro very soon thereafter. That team was good, but hit with bad luck.

Yes, Hemingways in Oakland has been closed for a couple of weeks now, but remember something is bound to move in there, just as the recently-closed bar took over for a then-iconic spot run by 1940s Bucco Frank Gustine.
All I know is one pack this morning had a card I'm figuring out how to obtain in real life. Which is a dangerous thing to happen on the same day the yearly big local vintage card show begins
