New post in a loose series of highlights of books you might not know but are well worth your time: Apollo Quartet by Ian Sales - alt history, hard SF, multiverse novellas.
We are back on track with an updated cover - Open calls for "Are You Everything Alright" and "Endings" are posted - aanpress.com/submissions.... - Please do note we will need to launch a KS campaign in August to fund these two books. Both these OCs are up to our usual quirky standards.
On the heels of having to switch the cover image for the upcoming "Are You Everything Alright" anthology (due to potential AI slop), here are 2 new cover layouts for consideration (Grandfailure 2015/2017 dates) as well as front covers isolated. They still speak to me of the theme. Comments welcome.
Yes. This one too which has his signature single person center frame but very much not his usual image feel
A very not Grandfailure image by Grandfailure which might work if color adjusted. He has a few interesting ones.

Working today to start the KS planning for "Are You Everything Alright" and "Endings" and writing up the OC submission info. We'll need a KS to fund these books before we can put any stories under contract. I'll have firmer dates on the OC as soon as I can. "A Second Cup" will be an add-on book.
Here is the full cover layout and cropped front cover without the watermarked image. "Are You Everything Alright", soon to be a KS campaign (August?) and then an OC (September?) along with "Endings". Think it is time and these two books will pair well together for curious authors and readers.
Isolated front cover (though I will use the purple tone image officially) for the evening crowd
For the curious - a slight enlargement to the image allows a better space balance around the front cover title. Subtle but it centers the title in the darker toned area and balances the top/bottom positioning around the building awnings. Also centes the people on the back cover french flap
On the virtual boards this morning - playing with cover designs for a future anthology idea, sparked yesterday by a quote (and by some spam @scottedelman.bsky.social received). Folds into the idea for an apocalypse/dystopia anthology but only for the evil people. The rest of us make a better place.
A new "Tea or Coffee, Stars and Gravity" review, this time highlighting @crossingwinter.bsky.social @roxanellanque.bsky.social and Meg Candelaria (Buy a copy here - aanpress.com/aanorder.htm...)
If we can sell a good number of our AaNX newspaper issues we can fund issue #5 - new sword and sorcery drabbles with 3-D images, glasses included. All newspapers printed on acid free stock and tabloid size. They ship with backerboards and in acid free poly bags
"Spirit Machine" is an anthology collecting 14 new science fiction and 14 new steampunk stories that mix those genres with Spiritualism (think séances, mediums, ouija boards, discarnate entities and spirit talking). Cover by @tropicalgloom.bsky.social - aanpress.com/aanorder.htm...
"AaNX Issue 04 - How The Statue Learned To Dream" Story by @csecooney.bsky.social . A new story in her "Dark Breakers" universe with artwork by printmaker Sarah Marshall - aanpress.com/aanorder.htm...
"AaNX Issue 03 - Epistolary Twistolary" Stories by @bextraterrestrial.bsky.social , @beatriceiker.bsky.social , and @jamielackey.bsky.social mashing together a world myth, an American folk song, and the epistolary genre - aanpress.com/aanorder.htm...
"AaNX Issue 02 - Snow 6" Assemblage artwork by Randie Snow, Stories by Gabriel Ertsgaard, Jennifer Howell, Anna Martino, Dexter McLeod, M. Regan, and Alexandra Seidel - aanpress.com/aanorder.htm... Stories commissioned to tell the tales of the six artworks.
Did you know we have a full color large format newspaper side project called "AaNX", pronounced Annex. We'd love to do more issues but need to sell more of what we have in stock. First up "AaNX Issue 01 - Emerging From Darkness" - aanpress.com/aanorder.htm...
"Fathoms in the Earth" - Collection of 24 stories, with titles taken from the film "Prospero's Books" by Peter Greenaway, explores 5 fundamental characters of "The Tempest:, placing them in new contexts, and inventing new narratives for their relationships. aanpress.com/aanorder.htm...
#MakeItWidelyKnownWednesday: A signal boost thread highlighting a few of our quirky projects that need a wider reach: "The Glorious Melancholy of Urgency" - 4 provocative Future History/Hard SF stories that share a common opening - aanpress.com/aanorder.htm...

With an author I have had the pleasure of publishing, celebrating her own first book of poetry under her own Tiny Bat Press imprint, here is a 28-29 year throwback to my very first two self published AaN books.
Small independent press books bought from real people, by browsing at small, local independent bookshops. Cover artwork by human artists. Written by human writers. All in it together.
