Looks like @mtsuofficial.bsky.social has arrived with a Diamond DA40 trainer. Parked next to the Diamond Pavilion. #OSH26 opens Monday morning.
I was going through some old photos and found this from 2018. We were over the Pacific, 1000’ below a FedEx MD11. 1 nm offset for SLOP (Strategic Lateral Offset Procedure) gave us a nice view.
I’m supposed to be building a 2 meter RC Cub. I’ve been sidetracked since November building a wood fired oven. Mostly completed. First pizza a couple nights ago. Baked bread late last night
Close! I’m covering with Polyspan; a bit stronger than Silkspan. Nice thing about poly is it can heat shrink like Monokote. For dope, I’m using Deluxe Materials Eze Dope. It’s water-based with no fumes. I tested it on this Guillow’s plane. Really happy with the results.
Started building my Christmas present. It’s a Dancing Wings 2 meter wingspan J-3 Cub RC (electric motor).
We had our family holiday cookie decorating party and dinner tonight. A little late but we got it done!
Finally completed my 1/144 scale UPS fleet. I built the DC-8 about 20 years ago. It started life as a Revell United DC-8-61. The 767-300 is an Aeroflot model by Russian maker Zvezda. 757-200 is a Minicraft NASA aircraft. The Zvezda kit was by far the best quality and easiest build. F**k ICE
Our Elf on a Shelf is extra creepy this year. Don’t stare into his eyes, and… Don’t BLINK. 🎄
This video of me was shot somewhere over the Pacific a few years back on Christmas Eve. I’m not saying that’s Santa. But I’m not saying it isn’t! 🎅🏽
I’m getting a head start on Christmas morning cookery. Just finished 4 loaves of my mom’s Nizua: It’s a Finnish sweet bread flavored with cardamom, lots of butter, and topped with sliced almonds and turbinado sugar. It’s the best.
I got to fly as safety pilot in my friend’s Mooney Bravo yesterday. He shot 2 RNAV approaches wearing foggles while I watched for traffic. Coolest approach was the RNAV 24 down to mins with a circle to land on 15. Fun!
I scored 19 because I never had an AOL address. I did have an account with Quantum Link (Q-Link) which was the AOL predecessor for the Commodore 64/128. So, I’m awarding myself 2 bonus points for being extra old. Final score: 21 🤣
I watched our Cherokee Six takeoff Monday with its new owner at the controls. 😢 As I was recording, it dawned on me that I had never watched or heard our plane take off. Odd feeling. My last flight as a pilot was Nov 22 when I test flew her after the annual (good thing I made a nice landing 😁).
