Revisited the classic Amok Time ep of ST:TOS and could not stop laughing at Vulcan Adam Driver over here, plus at Spock being like "It's not logical why you'd prefer this good-looking hunk over a nice guy like me, T'Pring"

If you make a frita cubana with a different type of meat and a different type of bread and a different type of fries, that's the frita cubana of Theseus. And a roujiamo is not a burger just because that's the word they use to sell it to white people. And a sandwich of loose lamb meat is not a burger. And why in god's name are there TWO shrimp burgers, and who's out there clamoring to eat shrimp with cheese?? I'm happy to see Joe Jr. and Werkstatt and Hamburger America, but this list is preposterous. One last thing: that writer makes the burger with boquerones and roquefort sound uniquely unappetizing. "Eat this disgusting stinky dripping mess and then take a shower," no, I'm okay, thanks.

This was a hell of a one-two punch to read back to back in today's America. I didn't even pair them thematically/chronologically on purpose, it just happened over library due dates. Two books about the rise and ongoing failures of neoliberalism. Great books. Infuriating but great.
