Has anyone noticed that Jan Wright, the costume designer on The Two Doctors, attempts to make most of the Troughton-adjacent characters grey-scale, because he was the black and white Doctor? Even Jamie only puts his full tartan on when he meets Colin (though Shockeye's the odd one out) #DoctorWho

Martin's The Bard, which I saw in The Laing in Newcastle. Looks good on screen. In person it blew me away: its majesty and grandeur really did something to me, in a way I don't fully understand.

Anyway, here's a map of England showing where The Midlands is, with its famous cities like Liverpool, Manchester and York.

A map of England, divided north to south into thirds of equal perimeter. The Midlands area emcompasses places as far north as Manchester, Bradford and York, and as far south as Coventry and Peterborough. The north is comprised of Cumbria, Northumberland and Durham, and some parts of Yorkshire and Lancashire.

I think there's a lot of truth in that, and some designers clearly made a conscious effort to lift things up onto other levels when they could. Murray-Leach was particularly good at that. Though sometimes you got this.
