Writing ghost stories for people who don't believe in ghosts. Wishing Shelf Book Awards silver winner, Rubery Book Award finalist, and Costa Short Story Award 3rd placer.
The hardback edition of my novel SMALL FORGOTTEN MOMENTS is on sale on Amazon UK (for less than half price!) www.amazon.co.uk/Small-Forgot... Is Zenna a muse, a sleep-deprived apparition, or something much more sinister? #BookSky
Thanks to Booksirens reviewer, Srivalli 😎 "Photographs of Emily and Other Stories is dark, atmospheric, and intense [...] the stories linger long after you finish them." Out 27 July Pre-order now books2read.com/photographs-... #AuthorSky #BookSky
It’s not my new tagline yet, but I love the way 'ghost stories for people who don’t believe in ghosts' sums up what I write - nothing tied 'neatly, nothing fully explained, the reader left to decide for themselves. Does that sound like something you enjoy? Out 27 July books2read.com/photographs-...
Too hot inside, but found a good cross breeze in my garden 😎
Pre-orders for my next book are live. It's real! No matter how many books I write, seeing it out in the wild is exciting, exhilarating, and extremely scary! Kindle only, at the moment, but more markets on their way. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0H7NCG375 #AuthorSky #WritingCommunity #Novella
Today's outdoors and sun-filled editing session. Until it got too hot and I had to come back inside #AuthorSky #heatwave #summer
The oldest pub in town has been offering solace and comfort to those in peril for centuries. For Quinn, Ella, and Rona, The Boatman is the perfect place to hide. books2read.com/TheBoatman
I've had an influx of new followers recently, so I thought I'd do a little getting-to-know-me-in-5-t-shirts post😎 What t-shirts would you share?
I don't think I've mentioned my writing muse all that much here, but today this gorgeous creature fell asleep for the final time. It's been such a tough day, and probably a few tough weeks to come. He has sat at my feet while I write for the past 12 years. RIP Artoo 💔
ARGH!!! I've tried to turn Co-Pilot off in MS Office, despite not having the option boxes that MS's own 'help' pages suggest. But now I've got this icon right beside my text as I work, and it's extremely off-putting. Any suggestions what I can do, apart from find a Microsoft alternative?
My first book has two anniversaries - it's original publication date (in February), and today, when the refreshed 2nd edition went live. Happy birthday to Cat and to the Dreamer. books2read.com/cat-and-the-... #BookSky
From my spam folder. Seems a bit mean, I'm trying my best...
Happy St Piran's day to all my Cornish friends and readers! Gool Peran Lowen!
Not all book reviews have to be flamboyant and verbose. One of my most recent ones for The Clock in My Mother's House reads: "Great read... would definitely recommend... very intriguing stories!!" Just a regular reader who wanted to share their thoughts. books2read.com/clock-in-mot...
I did that thing where I disappear from social media again, didn't I? I got so caught up in a short story dilemma, I forgot about the real world too - presents still need wrapping! Anyway, it's time to have fun. Have a good one!
It's a Christmas jumper and gloves kind of writing session today. I'm in search of a title for my current short story.
On this horribly wet, windy grey day, here's a photo I took on Wednesday
It's Saturday and I've just come home from work, and here's a book I wrote 😉 You’re on your own and you shouldn’t be. Your partner is missing. The streets are empty. Even the birds have disappeared. What do you do? bit.ly/One-Tuesday-... or books2read.com/one-tuesday-...
Here's my news: my short story collection The Clock in My Mother's House is a finalist in the 2025 IAN Book of the Year Awards! Congrats to all the winners and finalists. I'm off for a celebratory cider in front of the rugby! If you want to check it out, it's here: books2read.com/clock-in-mot...
He who gets a treat at 8pm is thoroughly confused by the clock change. This picture comes with a low rumbling grumble with occasional high pitched whining.
I love a sale, don't you? ONE TUESDAY, EARLY is currently half price on Amazon UK. "You're on your own and you shouldn't be. Your partner is missing. The streets are empty. Even the birds have disappeared. What do you do?" www.amazon.co.uk/One-Tuesday-...
Oops, almost missed International Dog Day. Happiness is my writing muse, Artoo, whining at me to do something for him... Usually stroking him while he slides to the floor and gets comfy.
