I know many of my constituents will welcome this week’s announcement on social media protections for young people. A midnight curfew and restrictions on limitless scrolling will help with better sleep, concentration, and time spent face-to-face with family and friends.

A unitary greater Oxford is the best option for our city. ✅ Good for our economy ✅ Good for strong local public services ✅ Good for affordable homes ✅ Good for democracy And the 3 council model is good for Banbury (and the rest of Oxfordshire) too!

Was great to meet with Keyaan and discuss the role of young carers. It’s so important these special but often overlooked young people get the support they need. In that conversation, it was good to discuss the work the charity Be Free Young Carers does in Oxford.

It was lovely to join the ‘Forever Young’ group at Westgate Oxford on Saturday Their seated dancing certainly got shoppers tapping their feet! It was one of many free events for Oxford’s #Windrush weekend. Big thanks to all involved in this celebration of the Windrush generation.

It was a real privilege to speak at the opening ceremony for Oxfordshire’s first Hindu temple. It follows no less than eighteen years of work to create this special place of worship for local Hindus and a community space for everyone in Oxford.

They’ve done it again! This year’s Flofest and Glofest were better than ever, bringing people together with fun, food and great music. I hope that all the volunteers who made the event such a success are now getting a very well-deserved rest. It was a joy to briefly join them!

It was a pleasure to speak at the opening of the 10th Creative Women Forum. This global event has gone from strength to strength, bringing together women in the arts and media with politicians, NGOs and business - building valuable connections across cultures and countries.

With the EU-UK summit confirmed for July, it was helpful to meet EU officials, politicians, NGOs and the British Chambers of Commerce in Brussels, alongside other Labour MPs and @labour4europe.bsky.social. It’s essential for our economic security that we work closely with the EU and member states.
