The trains were great (if *never* on time), the typography fantastic, and my phone tells me I walked more in the first week than Iever did in my life.

My favourite city/town must have been Nürnberg, but I also liked the tiny Mittenwald just next to Austria and a really scary bridge my brain did not allow me to cross.

I went to Mercedes and Porsche museums and even though the first one was impressive in its scale, I think I liked the minimalism of the second one much more.

Wuppertal’s Schwebebahn! Absolutely much better than I expected, pretty much in every possible way. I rode it back to back twice and then walked underneath half of it anyway.

The “secret” phone museum in Stuttgart hiding inside an underground station had tons of stuff and working demos and wonderful volunteers.

Völklingen Ironworks was incredible. Imposing and larger than I imagined and just overwhelming in every possible way.
