A little documentary I’m working on about the Banana Bread Hegemony of 2020
New York London Paris Munich Everybody's talking bout SNOKE'S TUNIC
I've spent the week drawing a new Destroy History story with Esther de Groot, it's got it all. After 17 years of feebly trying I think I've finally worked this series out
Alexi Lalas' intersection in 1993-4 with the emergence of the Spin Doctors led me to always equate him with their singer, as they looked alike back then. I will continue to plot their parallel paths until they die, presumably on the same day.
The topic of stipendiary magistrates came up yesterday and I did an image search to find one. The #1 result was a real gift of a name. Mr T. Stamford Raffles anyone?
I'll be at MACC-POW in Macclesfield on Saturday, hope to see some of you there. It's a fun event with loads of great guests and exhibitors.
NOTE: The break I talk about in today's post ended this week. Eight weeks off solved the tiredness but not the creative issues I was having. I must press on regardless to keep the bills paid, it beats being a short order cook at the Little Chef.
Disagree. I like to be out of my comfort zone. The comfort zone is dangerous. Whenever I am in the comfort zone I worry that is it like when you are dying of hypothermia and feel all sleepy and nice. I stan the discomfort zone.
You know those mad patterns that manufacturers put on new designs of cars to hide what they look like? I can always tell what the car looks like. I think I might have magic powers. It's entirely possible that I will end up becoming a military asset.
I follow Yorkshire Stained Glass on Instagram, who restore old leaded lights to a very high standard. I particularly enjoyed this post which showcases the Victorian (?) love of Howard the Duck.
Every time I see this I think, couldn’t Emma Radacanu’s parents just have called her sister “Ruth”?
My friend @phebble.bsky.social has alerted me to these bargains in the window of Cancer Research on Crouch Hill which I think is in Crouch End? North London. UK.
I'm David Mellor, welcome to 6-0-6, the home of red hot soccer chat
If you genuinely think the answer to England's goalscoring issues is three Pac Mans with their mouths closed, we're dangerously close to football becoming a mere feeder medium for young men's betting app addictions. Come on. This is meant to be the "beautiful game".
I've been putting up new shelving in my office and I'm proud to report that I have solved the Building Stories issue for a generation.
Clip Studio has tools that make colouring a lot more pleasant. There's a fill lasso, you can make it ignore little gaps in lines when you flood fill, a tool that will only fill areas based on your criteria many more tricks. I used Photoshop to colour for 10-15 years but could never go back now.
I found this rough for a cover today that I must have produced at the peak of exhaustion, because I'd forgotten that icicles don't point both up and down. Otherwise: flawless.
There's proud lineage of dance chart number ones, stretching right back to 'Greensleeves' tearing up the clubs, well done.
I’m watching an old Bergerac and was reminded of the good old days in the mid 80s when the spelling of “yogurt” really hadn’t been nailed down.
Apparently Giant Days is being reissued in a series of 6x9" 400pp pocket digests. I learned this about two minutes before you did, dear reader, from the eye that never sleeps @sktchd.bsky.social
Robin Cook! I thought it might have been spectral American princeling (and former congressman) Joe Kennedy III
"Daddy I want to drive the country" "Maybe after you've tidied your room" etc
I have become fixated on the idea that Starmer and Streeting are secretly father and son. In the picture you see here, Streeting fumes because while Daddy is allowed a real coffee drink, he only gets a "babyccino".
I'm being told that Jeremy Claypole, Junior Minister for Pranks & Tomfoolery, has just resigned
