Ben Goldsborough MP
@bengoldsborough
Labour MP for South Norfolk. If you are a constituent please email ben.goldsborough.mp@parliament.uk for casework enquiries. www.bengoldsborough.co.uk Promoted by Hollie Ridley on behalf of the Labour Party, 20 Rushworth Street, London, SE1 0SS
Build the homes. Build the healthcare too. I challenged the Care Minister to back a Neighbourhood Health Centre or Community Diagnostic Centre for Long Stratton and Hethersett. As South Norfolk grows, our NHS must grow with it. I'll keep making the case.
When constituents ask, I listen. Today I attended a Parliamentary briefing on adoption and kinship care after local families got in touch. It was also great to see issues I've discussed before with South Norfolk's senSI Treatment back on Parliament's agenda. #KinshipCare
🚨 Every summer Bawburgh faces the same problems. I brought together residents, the police, County Councillor Ben Weston and local parish council to find real solutions to anti social behaviour and road safety. I'll be publishing my report soon. Watch this space.
Science in our soil could help shape the future of farming. 🌱 Great to meet Professor Myriam Charpentier and Eloise Maher from the @johninnescentre.bsky.social in Westminster Hall to hear how research into plant microbes could reduce fertiliser use while protecting food security.
Reform says banning Pride displays from Norfolk libraries is about "neutrality". It isn't. Erasing LGBT+ visibility doesn't make people equal, it makes people invisible. I've written to Cllr David Bick calling on him to reverse this divisive decision. Love is love. 🏳️🌈
🏛️ Ever wondered what goes on inside Parliament? It was a pleasure to welcome South Norfolk constituent Jordan King from Delta Fire. We discussed supporting local engineering, government procurement and our fire services. If you're a constituent, email me to arrange your own visit!
Thank you, Stoke Holy Cross! ☕ It was great to see so many residents at yesterday's coffee morning. Thanks to the Parish Council, Rob for the fantastic cakes and drinks, and everyone who came along. We had thoughtful conversations on local issues and our community. #SouthNorfolk #StokeHolyCross
Community matters: Bawburgh does it again! 🦆 A huge thank you to the organisers for another brilliant Duck Race. Great to chat with so many residents ahead of the meeting I've arranged on antisocial behaviour and congratulations to our Westminster duck spotting winner! #Bawburgh #SouthNorfolk
The best policies start in the field, not behind a desk.🌱 This week I attended Groundswell with the EFRA Select Committee, hearing directly from farmers and land managers. I also joined a CLA panel and caught up with DEFRA Secretary Emma Reynolds MP. #Groundswell #Farming
The roadworks aren't the issue. The planning is. I support upgrading the A47. We need better roads. But it's not beyond the wit of man to keep buses running while the work takes place. With a bit of imagination, residents shouldn't have to lose vital transport links.
🔬 South Norfolk is helping shape the future. It was brilliant to visit the Royal Society and see the incredible work of the Norwich Research Park's @quadraminstitute.bsky.social, @johninnescentre.bsky.social and @earlhaminst.bsky.social on show. We should all be proud. #SouthNorfolk #Science
Planning ahead matters. As demand grows for livestock vaccines, whether for bovine TB or poultry, I asked whether the UK will actually have the supply to deliver. Farmers deserve confidence that ambition will be backed by action. 🌾🐄🐔
20% of England's pig herd is in Norfolk and Suffolk. That's why I challenged experts in the EFRA Committee over veterinary vaccine shortages affecting our farmers. We need resilient supply chains that give farmers the certainty they deserve. 🌾🐖
Easton bus nightmare. I told BBC Norfolk exactly what local people are thinking. Getting answers from Reform-run Norfolk Council been like "nailing jelly to a wall". While organisations blame each other, residents are left stranded. I'll keep fighting until Easton gets the bus service it deserves.
🚨 A win for Easton, but First Bus still hasn't learned. I've been calling for a diversion, not a cut to the Excel service, and they've finally agreed. Yet once again I wasn't told. I found out because a constituent spotted it on Facebook. That's simply not good enough.
Lot’s of great community events coming up! Why not pop the Mulbarton Open Gardens into your diary and support a brilliant local charity at the same time. ☀️ 🪴
The best of British. 🇬🇧 A brilliant afternoon yesterday at Wymondham Ex-Services Club celebrating Armed Forces Day. Great food, music and community spirit, but above all the chance to thank those who served our country. They deserve our gratitude not just today, but every day.
Your votes made the difference!🐟🍟 Congratulations to the brilliant team at Rumble's in Hethersett on receiving a Highly Commended certificate in my South Norfolk Fish and Chip Shop Awards. A well deserved recognition for going above and beyond for our community.
🧵 This is why I will never stop speaking out about antisemitism. I'm constantly told it's "not a problem" in South Norfolk. Then someone posted this on my Facebook page. 👇 1/6
🌱 #ICYMI: I was honoured to deliver the closing remarks at the Royal Norfolk Show's Big Debate. My message was simple: farming succeeds when consumers come with us. We must be honest about the choices between price, production and environmental protection.
🚜 #ICYMI: Farm accidents remain far too common. At the Royal Norfolk Show I met Thea from RABI to discuss the brilliant FarmersAid app. It is packed with practical advice for farmers and countryside users alike. A simple tool that could help save lives. rabi.org.uk/rabi-officia...
🏡 Strong social housing starts with strong partnerships. A pleasure to meet the team at Saffron Housing today to discuss how we can support both tenants and the social housing sector to thrive. Thanks to James Francis for his proactive engagement. Looking forward to working together.
Are you getting the post you deserve? 📮 I've secured a meeting with Royal Mail following concerns raised by South Norfolk residents. If you've experienced missing post, undelivered parcels or poor service, email me at ben.goldsborough.mp@parliament.uk by 30 June 2026.
🌾 #ICYMI: Great to join Norfolk farmers and @terryjermymp.bsky.social at the NFU roundtable. We discussed everything from input costs and trade to precision breeding, water management & planning. I always value the knowledge & honesty of our farming community. We always have a laugh as well!
🚜 Great to welcome the Farming Minister, @stephenmorganmp.bsky.social to the Royal Norfolk Show with @terryjermymp.bsky.social . We discussed backing rural businesses, cutting red tape and unlocking investment. I also hear some South Norfolk produce made its way onto the Minister's lunch plate!
The greatest show on earth? Right here in Norfolk. It was a real honour to join the civic welcome for Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal at the Royal Norfolk Show today. Great conversations with farmers, businesses and our rural community. Looking forward to day two.
A privilege to make my first appearance on the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee since being elected unopposed. I opened proceedings by questioning experts on the growing threat wildfires pose to rural communities like South Norfolk. 🌿🔥
🚨 Easton deserves better. I've updated constituents after the appalling handling of the Excel bus. First Bus told me a replacement shuttle was coming. It wasn't true. I'm demanding answers, pushing for the service to return and won't stop fighting for Easton.
📬 The next generation is speaking up for wildlife. I was proud to bring letters from pupils at St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School in Old Costessey into Parliament today. Their passion for protecting elephants from poaching and trophy hunting is inspiring. I’ll be writing back soon.
It was a pleasure to meet with the Jewish Leadership Council, Campaign Against Antisemitism and Community Security Trust in Parliament today. Thank you for the discussion. I reaffirmed my continued support to stamp out antisemitism and keep Jewish people safe in South Norfolk.
