Last day and hike in Asturias - Water Fairies's Gorge. Beautiful and a touch scary
If you know me (personally, I mean), you know I really like cycling. Now that kiddos are old enough, cycling is getting ever better. SO.MUCH.FUN I think I still have a few years being the stronger rider (I am the boost in long climbs for the youngest)... But not many.
Today during our bike ride the youngest one did a sudden stop since we were close to running over a... Mole cricket!!! Difficult to see in daylight, I am not sure how this guy got to surface! We relocated it into the tall grass... Good luck out there!
Morning walk in the Huergas Formation region, enjoying some cave exploration, fossils from past oceans, interesting plants (pinecone thistle, a new one for me) and the always impressive wolf spider Hogna radiata.
Working from Spain, but taking time to cycle around. A heat wave here is more gentle than the regular summer in Bermuda

I miss a few things from Spain (like, really missing, that I cannot get them outside). One of them is the rich diversity at the fishmonger, both to eat,and just to look at.

Went for a hike after skiing... These Utah mountains are magical
Apart from skiing, I enjoy the nature. The warmer days were dominated by the steller's jay, but with the snow storm juncos are around by the dozen. And a white snowshoe hare. And a moose. And so many others
Taking time with the family to enjoy what is left of winter in Utah. I love this area so much, the mountains, the snow... We even saw a moose!!!! But, last year, same week, there were 2-3 m of snow and fresh powder. Here is the effect of the record high temperatures they are getting in the SW!
Non-cycling Saturday morning activities are also nice...
That is percentage, though. Looking at raw, UK is not cutting much on fossil fuels after 2015, just using renewables to get more energy. Not only we need to use more green energies - we need to decrease the raw amount of fossil fuels we use if we really want to stop the increase of CO2
This common lantana from my garden tells pollinators that their service is no longer needed by changing colors (in this case, yellow to pink). That increases pollinator efficiency, and also prevents from too many pollinator visits happening when not needed (which might decrease seed production).
Today I presented my career and research at the @rittigers.bsky.social, invited by @elperedo.bsky.social (thank you!). Great experience, and very happy to see the how they are making science more #inclusive!!

I do not enjoy having dinner alone that much but... I do need to have dinner! Quiet restaurant, nice food, and walking distance!
