I made a movie: TheHackerMovie.com I wrote a novel: DeathRowBookClub.com I made a show: TheDifferenceEngines.com
The Rundown (2003) is one of the best action comedies ever made. Why it hasn't had a sequel is a mystery. Get as much of the original team together as possible and get it done! Here's a simple plot I came up with:
The biggest issue in the filmmaking community right now than AI. I dig into the issues… because client came to me and asked me to use generative AI to make a video. That means I had to really address the issue.
On Friday, June 19, 2026 at 3:00pm Pacific, Leaving Jackson Colorado will be released for free on YouTube. www.YouTube.com/@TheBXi
Screening a movie for multiple people is important, especially the people who helped make the movie. I was planning on releasing Leaving Jackson Colorado today (June 17) at 4:00pm Pacific. But someone found an error. Here's the new poster, with the new release date (3:00pm).
I made a short film called Leaving Jackson Colorado about an underground fighter who struggles to escape his violent past. I’m posting it to my Youtube channel ( youtube.com/@TheBXi ) on Wednesday. June 17th 2026 at 4:00pm Pacific. Here’s the key art!
I accept your seasoning and would like to spice it up with a tree of goats.
I guess bsky is working? Hard to tell with 24 views (I have thoughts on that (coming soon)).
There's a scene in Go Gentle where the main character attends a support group. On his way there, he sees a sign with other support groups, which means I need to make a sign. Here's what I came up with (thoughts and opinions welcome!).
Memi (my wife) and I sent out a Christmas card with fake kids and I was bald. Yesterday, Memi heard someone on YouTube say, "I was just on that billboard." And then Memi said, "I want to be a billboard." So I made her this. She laughed. Mission accomplished!
I believe in truth in #advertising. And I found this on socials and it feels increasingly more relevant as time passes.
#NonDeFilm Do you want to know the general tone of Go Gentle, my next short film? I bought these for reference.
#NonDeFilm #indiefilm #marketing People are talking about the value of making videos of filmmaking journey as a way to build audience (eg, Iron Lung). I can do that, but it won’t be remotely close to the same quality of my film(s). But, would people be interested? These are my current thoughts.
A few years ago I helped my friend and fellow #NonDe filmmaker, Paul Osborne make Fluorescent Beast. It’s a brilliant commentary/parody of what we as artists wrestle with. It’s gonna finally be available on VOD on Friday, March 6, 2026. Check this out!
#NonDeFilm I’m converting a script to a production draft while I listen to my Singles playlist. This is the first time I’ve ever produced someone else’s script. @mattfnwallace.bsky.social has written a good story so I’m making Go Gentle (working title).
The amazing @danmirvish.bsky.social is running a Kickstarter for his next #IndieFilm www.kickstarter.com/projects/ato... and I supported him and got this reward. I guess he thinks I should be Brezhnev?
There's a quote, "The road to hell is without mile markers." But, that doesn't mean it can't be seen in retrospect. And we have to be bold and honest with ourselves. Is this where we want to be? #indiefilm
#Photography My friend Michelle Ford takes pictures with lights and lines that inspired me. Here's the progression: 1. A freeway underpass 2. Desaturating 1., duplicating it, then flopping (horizontal flip) it. 3. Duplicating 2. and flipping it (my current wallpaper).
#IndieFilm The VAST majority of the traffic is because of ALGORITHM (TheHackerMovie.com), and most people definitely ARE NOT watching all of it, but… not a bad year… all things considered.
I like to watch stuff long after the hype has passed so I can form my own opinions. I'm watching S3E1 of The Bear and it's basically a recap of S1 & 2 and I have no notes. Perfection!
#indiefilmmaking Many movies and shows have a similar look. I thought it was just a homogenous (lack of) taste. It turns out, it's all about VFX. I shot Libertas using an organic camera style (sometimes handheld) and the tracking software can't track it. I'm now going full-manual.
The Ancient Greeks believed that a healthy mind required a healthy body. I could retort with Aquinas, but not this time. Yesterday, after meeting with the writer of my next short film, while consulting with Co-Producer on Libertas, I went for a jog.
#indiefilmmaking I’ve screened Libertas for three groups of people and the reviews are starting to come in: 1. “It’s good.” 2. “It’s actually really good.” 3. “It’s amazing. It’s better than anything I’ve seen on Apple TV!”
#indiefilm I just sent the last rough cut (RC-03) of Libertas over to Calvin Vanderbeek (the Co-Producer) to get more notes. Here’s what the current editing timeline looks like.
#Supportindiefilm I labelled all the Libertas footage and audio. Now I'm backing it up on two HDDs and a 140TB RAID. I don’t need my camera until the next short film, so the “negatives” are all still on the cards/devices. Here’s a BTS shot from Pho 79 scene (photo by Allan Bui).
#indiefilmmaking Libertas has 2 filming days. Day one was Saturday and we got A LOT. Day 2 is today. And this feels like an appropriate look for how I feel (pictured is a kitted out RED and I shoot on a Canon R5C, but the intent is there):
#IndieFilm I’ve been chatting with the cast & crew of Libertas, getting the final details settled as we prep for tomorrow’s shoot. One great conversation with an actor today caused some rewrites that made the project stronger. That’s why I love collaborating.
I have an opening shot for Libertas planned: I fly a drone over the city, into Angela’s house, through the sliding glass door. I’m practicing the shot by flying between palm trees. And I’ve crashed 4x. And I had to buy a BUNCH of replacement propellers. #indie
My friend and fellow #creative Kyle Rutkin wrote this and I feel it's a must read for anyone in the creative space! kylerutkin.substack.com/p/before-you...
#indiefilm The profit-share agreements have been sent out to all the people currently helping me make Libertas. Other than gear prep, here's now nothing (that I can think of right now) to do until the shoot date. Now to find my center.
