What these hagiographies conveniently omit is that no matter how "good" the person you're lauding is, they still represent a profound evil. Because make no mistake, the United States IS the Evil Empire, and anyone truly willing to challenge that evil will never make it into the White House.
Green New Deal was the literal Green 2012 platform. Dems stole and destroyed it. Republicans are sprinting toward climate catastrophe, Democrats are jogging toward it while paying lip service to action they won't take. Jill Stein is not the overall answer but she had this perfect answer in 2011:
And all these years I thought it was "The Terminator" franchise that forewarned the dystopian nightmare of our impending doom... 😅
A nice reminder... and refresher on the conjugation of irregular -er verbs in Spanish 🤓
Watching racists rage over NASA's "DEI" Artemis II crew—when Trump and NASA explicitly banned DEI, with punishments for noncompliance—shows that too many white people, especially white men, can't bring themselves to believe that any woman or Black person could ever be qualified for the job at hand.
In the '80s, we'd pour sugar in their gas tank, stick a banana up the tailpipe, or lay slices of bologna on the paint. Only one of those things actually caused damage, and it was cosmetic. Of course, in the '80s we were also raised on a "real men don't mess with other people's cars" ethos 😅
The best thing he did was get shot. Really. The way he handled that was pretty epic. Too bad he pulled through.
His administration did say it was an accident. And since I apparently have to say this here, I am not defending anything Obama did. Never voted for him. I warned about him in 2007 and published dozens of critical articles once he was in office. I used to wear this t-shirt a lot back then:
They're both horrific. Before Trump's record of 10 countries bombed, it was Obama's record of 7. HRC supported it all—and was instrumental in adding Libya to that list of 7.
US Army Reservists Spc. Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, Sgt. William Jerome Rivers, and Spc. Kennedy Ladon Sanders just died for Trump's war of choice on Iran. I wonder if any of them, or their loved ones, voted for him believing his "no new wars" promise?
Obama bombed a lot of countries (7). Trump has bombed even more (10).
Look what arrived in the mail today... Can't wait to wear it where they can see it!
Many races, genders, sexual orientations, and nationalities rallied together against Trumpism and for democracy at today’s NO KINGS protest in Houston. ✊🏾
Tens of thousands of Houstonians (and this San Franciscan) turned out “deep in the heart of Texas” to say NO KINGS, no to the Trump regime, fascism, oligarch, war, and genocide—and yes to democracy, immigrants, justice, and peace.
Is this how you reply when someone shows you you're 100% wrong about Biden and Israel's genocidal intent, which we've covered since day 1 at the news outlet where I work? Well, I guess it's better than how an utterly beaten MAGA would reply. Well, OK, then. Happy Pride!
