I made this little proto-goth* jam in celebration of the release of @lasersinger.bsky.social's "Layla: The Little (Un)Dead Girl". Watch it now on youtube! Lincoln comments. *and by proto-goth I basically mean Joy Division. #originalmusic #musicsky #indieanimation
It's totally possible to create a dark mood without having to hide everything in darkness. But it would require hiring people to handle lighting design and despite budgets being far bigger now than they ever were before for TV and Film, apparently it's too expensive to hire experts.
The #Lackadaisy fandom is insane. "Last Call" was only released last year in October and it's broken 1.3million streams on Spotify alone. Getting 100 people to listen to an indie artist these days is tough, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has listened.
Dispelling some myths about making music perpetuated by social media - this is both for people who don't know how music making works as well as those who make music but let social media make them feel inadequate.
Just keep on running @psychicchime.bsky.social #originalmusic #diysky #musicsky #musiciansky
During short breaks from current scoring work, I fulfilled a request on reddit to transcribe and tab out a guitar piece some youtube guitar player had posted. I did the whole darn thing and didn't even get a thank you 🤷♂️ So here you go, guitarists of BlueSky. Original performance by Vineet-q9j8w
The New York Times trying to proclaim that the manosphere and evangelicals are the 'New Punk Rock'. Was the Wall Street Journal too busy to weigh in on what is and isn't punk?
Dorico's pretty slick. I'm still not really sold on the whole "flow" thing (great if you're working in movements, annoying if not), and I need to figure out how to deal with titles and miscellaneous text in the "Engrave" mode better, but I think I'm fully sold on using this for notation.
The line for the off-ANNECY indie screening wrapped around the building 🤯 🤯 Bonkers for an unofficial event. Indie animation is taking over and it's kind of unreal that I get to be a small part of it.
People lining up HOURS in advance for this screening 🤯
I wish dreamy country was more of a thing 😔 Sound on 🔊
Pleasantly surprised to find out I scored 3 of the 9 films being screened at this special off-ANNECY indie animation event! If you happen to be attending the festival, swing by and tell them I say hello! 🗓️ THURSDAY, JUNE 25 | 2-4 pm 📍 CINÉMA LES NEMOURS, ANNECY, FRANCE
I wish we had more historical accounts of Hieronymous Bosch's life. Was his food or water tainted with some sort of hallucinogenic fungus or something? Was he the lone surviving artist of a group of medieval surrealists? Was he a literal time traveler?
I admittedly did not let the test run all the way through, but ~30 hours into the process, I had 7.9gb of verifiable data, and 704.9gb LOST on a 1tb card. Suffice to say I will be testing ebay's return policy. Testing a 512gb card next. So far 7.4gb of verified data, 25.6gb lost. I've been had.
1 billion is already an unfathomable amount of money. When people are MULTI billionaires, it's ludicrous. If billionaires started funneling more of their mountain of gold towards efforts that actually benefit the public, maybe they wouldn't be hated so much. Which might benefit them in the long run.
I know I'm an old man shouting at the clouds at this point because youtubers and influencers are going to do what they're going to do, but holding lavalier mics not only looks stupid, it causes popping/'plosive effects that wouldn't be an issue if you used the mic the way it was designed to be used
The used instrument market is out of control 🖕🖕🖕
That, the Behringer FCB-1010 pedals, a laptop, and homebrew patches/software made the backbone of my electro-acoustic ambient sets back in the day (usually with cello or guitar, but sometimes bowed cymbals, and a piano at my senior recital). I haven't found cheap faders/knobs since.
I really miss my old UC-33e. It was made from super cheap plastic, the faders had a short throw and had the tendency to pop off in backpacks, it sometimes got glitchy, and you could brick it if you dropped it, but just having a set of cheap faders AND knobs was super handy.
Spoiler: It's not THAT Glitch. It's another company that rudely has the same name. Also, they don't actually have any jobs posted. Extra rude.
Newest studio addition!!! If I’ve ever been accused of lacking in bass, this should take care of that 😈 Protip: There’s no on/off switch, so if you don’t want to constantly plug and unplug the synth, get an inline on/off switch adapter for the power supply.
The composition on these is awful, but it was the best I could do twisted around in my seat while also trying not to get in peoples' faces.
Here he is coming out the other side of all that tear gas like a boss. His name is Greg Ketter and he owns DreamHaven Books. dreamhavenbooks.com
