Students participated in a number of exercises with BWI Marshall Airport Fire and Rescue. From trying on firefighting equipment to spraying construction cones to witnessing a practice burn and more, it was a fun time at the firehouse.

The newest pin on our destination map is... Philadelphia! Southwest Airlines will begin twice daily nonstops to Philadelphia next March.
Next week, we begin a major airfield project to rebuild Runway 10-28. As a result, this runway will be temporarily closed until early October. Eventually, the intersection of both of our commercial runways will be closed during overnights. More info: BWIairport.com/RunwayRehab

It's an exciting week as we host approximately 50 youth from Baltimore City for our 10th annual Summer Youth Initiative. Students will explore the airport from all angles working with our team and partners for an engaging weeklong camp.

Lots of fun was had over the weekend with the Martin State Airport Open House during Sail250 Maryland and Airshow Baltimore. Visitors got to see aircraft on display, meet flight crews and see fly-bys from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, among other activities.

Our summer interns have been active in networking and engagement, beyond just BWI Marshall and Martin State Airports. They recently participated in the @marylanddot.bsky.social Safety Fair and the BWI Business Partnership Young Professionals Group, among other activities.
Excited to roll out improvements to our MTA Light Rail station. New digital signage inside the airport helps provide riders with service & train departure information. The outer walkway area has been resurfaced, too, to provide easier access between terminal and train.
