@carl50035arkroyal
From North West Leicestershire👍🏻 Been known to like railways, beer, cake, pasties, Cornwall, Devon, moaning etc etc Bonkers about class 50’s Drove one once & loved it Also a Ferrari nut Can’t stand Musk or his companion’s that’s why I defected
Makes you laugh 😆 Just two days ago they repainted the white road markings by the junction at night with all the expense that that entails Two days later they removed the road surface & therefore the new road markings! I’ll give it a week & they’ll be digging the newly laid road up
I’d go out to escape the constant scraping & drilling but its nearly a 5 mile & 20 min detour just to pop to Tesco & again just to reach the nearby A42 5 days of this & we’re only on day 2 My journey to work tomorrow night is going to be ****
Morning I think I’ve discovered that early starts no longer agree with me! Slept through the alarm Slept through whatever these noisy ***** could make. Still, it nice to see a proper resurfacing job & not chippings Also there’s always one stupid car owner that ignores the no parking
Sirloin steak tea tonight From Tesco, 2 for £12 Bloomin delicious too it was with a giant mushroom Washed down with a firm favourite Spot a National Trust newbie for the garden?
Nice midday walk in #CalkeAbbey, #Derbyshire to blow the cobwebs out Nobody about either Lovely stuff
Copped it in July 2008 at Willesden Saw two others at Clapham Junction later
Staropramen evening tonight Had tea. Pasta, chicken & roasted red peppers Now just chilling in the garden listening to the water feature as I’m up all night
It seems the silly talk season has started as it always does around the British GP Don’t be surprised if you see this chap dressed like this. Although they say they’re not interested they’d jump at having Max on board Question is who gets thrown under the bus Piastri is my favourite
So Trump thinks he’s no 1 on Iran’s death list does he? Cant see an anything wrong here. Seriously though I wouldn’t wish misfortune upon anyone He needs to be very careful from now until his last breath If the Iranians so much as sniff an opportunity they’ll take it
Why have some of the Hungarian class 86 locos had a cab desk refit? It seems most of them are stored!
Sat in the garden Simple tea tonight Salmon new potatoes & broccoli & a big knob Of butter over the whole lot While that’s cooking it’s time for some #Korev amber nectar Only got 3 cans left Don’t panic, I’m having another delivery on Thursday👍 It’s the perfect drink for summer’s evening👌🏻
Great to hear that this much missed girls repairs are finally underway. The A2 piston & liner has been removed for parts replacement The defective motor has been sent for assessment & quote You can still donate I believe All monies go to the 50017 cause 👍 www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/50017

USA goalkeeper Matt Freese gifted Belgium an absolute howler in a game he’ll want to forget He’ll probably be told he has 24 hours to leave the country & never show his face again Great stuff Couldn’t have happened to a nicer country 🇺🇸
So now that Brazil has been put on its backside & dumped out the World Cup by Haaland I mean Norway it’s Norway that England face in the next round. Question Who is better? Kane or Haaland? People are saying Kane but is that just because he’s British?
23:50 Still outside Slurping tea & noshing on pistachios while listening to the water feature
Great day that was with both Peaks running 44004 & 45108 Great driver too that got the best from them I was in bloomin heaven mate
31108 is working at Butterley this weekend Not sure if it’s just the Sunday as a kettle is on too Will be a strong thrash up from Pye Bridge run around from the 31 We had both 44004 & 45108 up from there to Swanwick MASSIVE
Disaster on the bbq front! The usually reliable butcher didn’t give us the chicken shish kebabs I asked & paid for. Certainly paid for them looking at my card statement online. Bloody Robdogs Just burger’s & koftas sweetcorn’s & fries Oh & Korev Plenty of that as I’m in charge of it!
Morning. Up with the larks today. Sister has an early hospital appointment at Leicester General. I’m reading that work has finally begun on 50035 & 50044’s repaint at Derby Litchurch lane. Can’t wait to welcome them & especially 50035 back home at the SVR It’s been a while
Saw a red kite in #AshbyDeLaZouch the other day while on the way to work Never seen this far north. Banbury was the previous highest. Looking into it further there’s been 6 sightings in the last fortnight. Ashby, Coalville & Thringstone Lovely birds Lovely stuff
After doing nearly 14 miles in a very hectic shift at work I’m understandably feeling a tad rough today Having a very strong coffee in Costa to knock my socks off Here’s the excellent D9525 at the diesel gala at the Great Central Got a bit of a soft spot for these class 14’s
Was pleasantly surprised by how nice this old girl looked so took shed loads of photos of her although it was hard getting shots of her without people in the way Quite like this one of D123 at Rothley on 25th April 2026
Popped over to Leicester for the class 37 Branch Line Society railtour Down to Dundee on 19th March. Here class 37 locos 37423 and 37611 are seen passing through East Midlands Parkway early morning working 0Z24 from Rectory Junction to Leicester.
The badger is back! 89001 & 86101 are captured departing from Crewe on 18th March 2026 with 5Z31, a test run from Crewe to Tebay. Worth getting up at silly oclock for this one
Been busy clearing a backlog of photos off my camera recently Here’s gorgeous 50049 Defiance at Hampton Loade on 4th April 2026 during a layover while we waited for a steam service which was running late. The class 50 was working the diesel turn. It was like a railtour in the first 2 coaches😂
Class 37215 looks lovely (for a tractor) in banger blue at Cheltenham racecourse station on the Gloucester & Warwickshire Railway on 26th April 2026. The occasion was double up Sunday. Unfortunately the other booked class 37 was unavailable so 215 was left to do all the work Noisy thing😁
Morning Just realised that it’s July 1st today Where the heck did June go 🤔 Have a great day everyone & have a shiny class 45 on me
