In a vacuum, I think the villagers from the first Crash game had an appealing design. I like their overall shapes and cute noses. But the 'hostile natives' archetype can be pretty awkward territory, so I understand why Crash 4's team ultimately went a more fantastical route to sidestep the issue.

There are aspects of BN4 I liked, but I VERY much see why many place it in last. The game being a big tournament arc (right after BN3 did a tournament) and randomizing which bits you get with the assumption you’ll play multiple New Game+ is smelly. Ain’t playing this game 6 TIMES to see everything.
Battle Network has established an ending formula of: -point of no return -long tedious hallway -tedious mini-boss -even more tedious final boss I hit a patience wall last night after enough tries at BN4’s finale where I threw my hands up and turned on the Collection’s god-mode buster to skip it.

I'm usually fine with the campy logic of this series, but Mr. Match in BN4 irked me. BN3 has Match betray Lan's trust, launch a terror attack that effects the entire country, nearly kills Lan's father, and gets arrested in a comatose state. In BN4 he casually showed up and Lan was like "Oh, you!"
"Nation X, the infamous military state" sure rings with a different, Musk-y tone nowadays. The brief stop in "NetFrica" ended up tamer than expected. It's still VERY awkward/clunky, but a grab bag of recycled NPCs as villagers is a step above something, y'know... suck-air-through-clenched-teeth-y.
BN4’s abrupt shift in overworld sprites took a bit to get used to - I’m nostalgically inclined to think the originals are more endearing, but the new ones are very cute & they use the scale to cram more detail in the environments. Castillo Park was a fun, silly area with a memorable dungeon theme.

Huh. A sequel to Tenchi Universe in particular stands out since that's very much it's own thing separate from the spiraling mess that the original Tenchi timeline descended into. I haven't seen Universe since the Toonami days though, so my memory of it is an extraordinarily hazy blur.
"Derp-ification Carl" (2010) I can always immediately tell when a drawing is from my "first cheap Wacom in Flash 8" era by the lines. I was *extremely* impatient and rushing through every drawing, but at least I was having fun. "I can draw *directly* into the computer?!" still felt like witchcraft.
I considered going back to fight the postgame bosses in each game of the first trilogy before I move on, but they all require Mega Man at a certain high level or chip library completion threshold to actually face any of them and I am not a 12-year-old with infinite free time in the early 2000s.
