Who is the audience for this lie, from CIS, from the WP ed board shamefully parroting it? Is somebody out there meant to believe it? Or is it doing something else

The result is that around 350,000 Haitians have lost their authorization to work in the United States. About 200,000 Haitians TPS holders were working before the ruling, including 8,000 caregivers and 13,000 nursing assistants. Native-born Americans have not been lining up to fill those roles.
Former immigration judge Andrew Arthur, a fellow at the conservative-leaning Center for Immigration Studies, said the end of TPS is "simply the beginning of a process and not the end of one." Migrants facing removal have the opportunity to seek a different status in front of a judge.

FACETS Consulting LLP, an Arizona-based firm that is publicly advertised as a fire safety consultancy. Thiel is a founding partner.

Maybe Trump will be the last restrictionist president

There are two major pieces of wishful thinking in the flights of fancy that underpin American population forecasts.
The first is immigration. The Census Bureau assumes the United States will have an annual net migration (immigrants minus emigrants) of about one million immigrants through the end of the century. The United Nations and Social Security trustees assume about 1.2 million immigrants a year throughout the 21st century. None of these forecasts are plausible. Net migration under President Trump will most likely turn out to be near zero, and he won't be the last
immigration restrictionist in our nation's highest office.

I don’t love that my local police station is flying this wack flag that would be more at home at alito’s shore house or on the t shirt of an unsettling sweaty man you see at the gate at a second tier airport

A flag, a take on the American flag but instead of stars it had like a circle of stars and the numbers 1776 and 2026? And there aren’t enough stripes, and at the bottom it says 250 years in white block letters on a black stripe. Instead of blue, the star area looks black. And the stripes have that paintbrush pattern that makes them look shitty and “manly” so it reads as tough in that truck commercial way

Appreciate this insight

Wood laid a foundation for a distinctive, genteel kind of "founders" history: one that keeps a quiet distance from uncritical flag-waving by emphasizing at every turn how different the eighteenth century was, still while insisting that everything good about the United States emanated from the founding, even if ironically and unintentionally. Too aware to ignore the threat that alternative histories posed to his mountain of scholarship, he slammed those that bid to take down founder worship, to add other groups to the pantheon of founders, or to dwell on the inegalitarian aspects of what the founders created. He issued a few occasional mild dissents against ahistorical constitutional originalism, but punched left a lot harder and more often than he punched right.
