Minneapolis, I love you. Thank you for voting me through to the general election. Together we can fight for the safe, stable, and fully funded public schools that every family deserves. Together, we’ll win.
I am honored to be endorsed by my friend, State Senator @omarfatehmn.com (SD62). Senator Fateh is a brilliant legislator who builds coalitions across divides while remaining rooted in his values.
TODAY IS THE DAY!! Let’s get out and vote to support progressive champions up & down the ballot. We deserve leaders who are rooted in community. Leaders who will stand with us in the streets and in the halls of Congress. Find your polling place: mnvotes.org
It's wonderful to have Senator and pickle aficionado @doronclark.bsky.social as a supporter of our campaign. In our work together, I have appreciated Senator Clark's intentionality with regard to housing and public education funding.
For too many of our students, school is not the safe place that it should be. This has been made especially clear in Minneapolis recently. My heart still breaks for the families of Harper and Fletcher
I am proud to be endorsed by Ward 2 Council Minority Leader, @robin4mpls.bsky.social! Robin has been an essential partner in fighting for local policies that let our families stay housed and safe.
I am honored to have received the endorsement of the @twincitiesdsa.org. I believe that the foundation of a strong public school system is the people who work in it and the working families who's scholars benefit from it. I will never stop fighting for those equally important groups.
Join @beccaforschools.bsky.social, @shannon-for-d3.bsky.social, & I TOMORROW to cast our ballots in the primary followed by happy hour at Indeed Brewing!! Voting is one of the many ways we each can support Public Education. Primary Election Day is August 11, but you can vote early now: mnvotes.gov
Climate justice and education justice are integrally intertwined. Our city skyline should never look like this. We owe it to our future generations to fight like hell so that defunded education systems and toxic air are not the norm.
As I was finishing up a walk earlier, I looked toward downtown and this is what I saw. My campaign logo includes an apple tree both because of the apple's symbolic tie to education and because learning requires a connection to the natural world with an understanding practicing stewardship.
You know what I love to do on a Friday in the summer after a long week at work? Nerd out on education policy with my neighbors! Starting this upcoming Friday, we are hosting a series of meet and greets where I hope folks will come and pepper me with questions. RSVP at bit.ly/MeetChristin
We have made some massive gains since the first Pride in 1972, but there is still so much we can do to make sure everyone feels a sense of belonging. I am committed to the work of making MPS a safe and welcoming environment for every single student. Now, I need to recuperate slightly.
Minneapolis’ ability to celebrate pride is unmatched! It was amazing to spend time in community with so many of you this weekend at Twin Cities Pride.
On Mondays (and Saturdays), we wear purple! We’re kicking off our door knock campaign this Monday evening. Join us for any dates you are able. Knocking doors is the best way to make sure that we hear every neighbor’s’ voice. Learn more and RSVP to join us at bit.ly/DoorsWithChr...
It’s still a little odd for me to call them Commisioner but, I am incredibly proud to have @jason4parks.bsky.social’s support. There is so much collaboration that can be fostered with MPS and MPRB. I look forward to partnering with them to build programming that fully utilizes our shared space.
Get your walking shoes on! We will be kicking off our first “official” door knock of the campaign Monday night in Seward! We will send an exact location once you RSVP! (forms.gle/fPJV4zuQ3D5e...) I can’t wait to talk with folks about our plans to fully fund our Minneapolis Public Schools.
UPDATE 🎂 The party is moving to Powderhorn Park to join the SD62 door knock kickoff! I didn't want to miss Senator @omarfatehmn.com’s 1st door knock of the season & I want to celebrate my birthday with all of you. There will be cake & we can knock some doors with friends! RSVP: bit.ly/sd62kickoff
So, Thursday is my Birthday…?! As much as I don’t love being the center of attention, I would love for you to join us at Waite Park to talk about your wishes for Minneapolis Public schools while we all enjoy cake and lemonade. Join us from 6-7:00 RSVP at bit.ly/Christin-BDay
Happy Juneteenth, Minneapolis. Last weekend, I was honored to be welcomed by the community at the MPRB’s Juneteenth Celebration at Bethune Park in North Minneapolis. It was wonderful to see all the vendors, organizations, and community members who showed up to celebrate on the Northside.
TFW you're on the back porch and suddenly thinking of fundraisers. Come out and join us on Sunday from 3-5, we'll have an awesome event and I'd love to see you. RSVP at bit.ly/mpls-pickle-fundraiser
What a beautiful evening for the Northeast Parade on Tuesday!! I had a wonderful time seeing so many smiling faces & celebrating with our community!
Here’s a screen grab from the site & a link to the pledge; there’s a link to the signatories under each section: www.thepledgefortransliberation.org
I am proud to sign onto A Better DFL's Pledge for Trans Liberation! Minnesota is a Trans Refuge State and it is crucial that our public schools embody that commitment both through policy and the day to day experiences of our students, families, & staff.
Ok, my team has been telling me to get more into video so, here’s an attempt. Learning to do new things is important for everyone, even School Board candidates. 😅 I hope to see lots of you this week. Let me know if you have any questions about my campaign that we can answer in future videos. 💜💜💜
The DFL's Senior Caucus is a shining example for the power of solidarity. I am so impressed with their membership and organizing. Their members show up in all kinds of spaces to organize, across age groups, for issues throughout our state.
Beautiful day in community celebrating Juneteenth at Bethune Park!
I love a pickle! This is true of both the brined-vegetable and the difficult problem varieties.
