Former teacher now temping. Proud mother of an autistic daughter. #CEV. Cat slave; bookworm; Doctor Who & Strictly fan. Unashamedly woke. Same name on 🐦 and 🦣 She/her 🌍 South-West UK
Such a fucking waste of money to appease a tiny handful of hateful and hate-filled bigots. JKR could have done so much good with her money but instead she chooses to persecute an already vulnerable minority. I despise her. (Reposting image with alt text)
Everybody, stop what you're doing and look at how cute Selkie is.
This 👇 made me smile. My AuDHD daughter commented that it's wonderfully autistic.
How have we reached a point where the Anne Frank Trust has to call out the persecution of a vulnerable group? Labour, the Tories and Reform have normalised this kind of rhetoric. Ffs, just let trans and other LGBTQ+ people live their lives in peacem
I've broken my rule of never clicking on Daily Mail links just for the fun of it. It looks as if Count Binface has the country behind him.
Our two have already composed a strongly worded email. Phoenix is currently striking dramatic poses, while Selkie's desperately trying to catch a breeze by the window.
Post or repost a #Bridge from your photography or artwork. Bristol harbourside.
If not, go to Feeds, scroll down and search for OnlyPosts. I hope it's helpful.
That is an excellent fact. Loving the synchronisation of my Bluesky timeline today, btw:
Book no 26: The Dispossessed. What a wonderful book. If you don't know it, the basic premise is that an outsider from a utopian anarchic moon visits a capitalist planet and the culture shock is profound: Shevek can't understand the people of Urras, and they struggle to understand him. #Booksky 1/4
Just scrolling back on my timeline and I love seeing the Bluesky hive mind doing its thing again:
I had a lovely day volunteering through work at Redcatch community garden, Knowle, Bristol. It's a real community space, with a shop, café and loads of free events and sessions. Even on a week day, it was buzzing - with people and with pollinators. If you're nearby, do check it out.
Post a random picture or else everything will go bad in July
There's nothing like a bit of synchronised washing on a warm Thursday afternoon
Absolutely. The very first official food bank in the UK was set up in 2000 in Salisbury, but there were very few until the 2010s. The need has grown exponentially.
It's so good to see Brix looking his normal self. Phoenix and Selkie send their appreciation; they are fascinated by bugs too. And the dogs look so happy too. Thank you for this Monday joy.
Book no 25: Book of Lives. I'm a huge Atwood fan, so this wasn't a hard sell, and I loved it. Atwood's led such a full life, from growing up in log cabins in the of Canadian woods to literary superstardom. The book is a mosaic of memories, reflections, and literary breadcrumbs, 1/4 #Booksky 📚
One of my daughter's tops is cuddling another one on the washing line 🥹
These quizzes are always fun, and I'm certainly not unhappy with my result: britmonkey.com/2020s-politi...
Book no 24: The Feather Thief. “Little did I know, my pursuit of justice would mean journeying deep into the feather underground, a world of fanatical fly-tiers and plume peddlers, cokeheads and big game hunters, ex-detectives and shady dentists." A tale of a heist, but so much more. 1/3 #Booksky 📚
This was Bath a couple of hours ago. Via my daughter's Instagram.
There are vacancies for PM, Doctor Who and James Bond at the moment. Who'd be perfect in all three roles?
