Top stuff! They were fabulous live at the Weekend Rumble festival in Usk a fortnight ago too!
Well, what else would my 6 year old granddaughter want for her birthday than a record player and discs for her Barbie house…! It must be in the blood!
@wallytbm.bsky.social Mickey just mentioned your tribute CD before playing this!!!
Just refound this article in a storage box from 50 years ago today when Sounds music paper printed their “The A to Z of Punk”… I recall being intrigued but had no idea what was going to happen in the following months….
Another blistering hot day at a festival in Wales! Today at the Caerleon Festival we saw the always brilliant Blind River Scare, The Blessed Crow, The Chartists and noticed an alternative blue plaque saying “nothing happened here”!
I’m so looking forward to revisiting Portmeirion in October for the Mekons festival! I also have the Bam Caruso LP (and everything on the label!). I’ve know Phil Smee who ran the label and compiled it since I was a kid, he is a huge Prisoner fan too!
Scorching hot in Tintern today for the Folk On The Lawn Festival and great to see MG Boulter play live again!
Welsh artist Boy Azooga made tribute through their record sleeve design a few years ago!
A year later I nabbed this badge for the EP recorded at The Rainbow (rather than the Marquee in 1977)…..
Wow! The Waco Brothers had it all tonight in Newport! 2 hours of rocking country in the blistering heat and a Bonny Tyler cover of “It’s a Heartache” to start the encore! See them if you can!
Tonight! Back in Newport for the first time in over 25 years the Waco Brothers return featuring local boy Jon Langford! They were on fire in London last week and will be amazing tonight at Le Pub - see you there!
@bringitonskippy.bsky.social hi Mark. Not sure if you are still collecting Mr Bump stuff bit just seen this money box in a chazza for £4 if you are interested? Cheers. Ray
Happy 250th anniversary to Americans who celebrate such things. In 1976, The Observer magazine had a weekly feature on the true history of America to celebrate the bicentenary. It covered subjects such as the Welsh getting there first and how the country exploited slaves. May be time for a reprint?!
Great gig in London last night by the Waco Brothers ably supported by our Men of Gwent who were joined by Jon Langford (aka Cliff!) for a few songs too!
It was 40 years ago today that @nightingalesuk.bsky.social Fuzzbox & Ted Chippington came to play…..
I recall being at that gig! Robert was on the best form I have ever seen him when he played Cardiff with his Swedish group last October. Hopefully they will return to the UK soon…
If you are visiting the Cardiff Food & Drink Festival in the Bay on Friday why not visit the bandstand to see @burningferns.bsky.social play sets at noon and 4pm?!
Really enjoyed seeing Gene play Newport tonight! I saw them many times right from the start until they finally spilt. It was also good to meet so many people I hadn’t seen in 30 years! Somehow I didn’t get the memo that the legend that is Mick Talbot now plays keyboard with them! Amazing! 😳🎹
Lovely evening seeing the super talented MG Boulter & Samantha Whates play solo and duo sets at The Globe in Hay-On-Wye! See them if uou can! @samanthawhates.bsky.social
The ever wonderful Pete Paphides played our next lathe 7” release - “Sick” by Newport teen sensation Hairdye on his Soho Radio show just now!!! It’ll be released on Bandcamp to coincide with the band playing Rebellion Festival in Blackpool on August 6th!
Listening live sat next to the hotel pool while waiting for the airport transfer bus to pick us up! Hope I can hear the magnificent Railcard play before I have to leave! I have my Railcard wallet with me at all times!
Enjoying listening to the excellent latest @wallytbm.bsky.social release “I Helped Edward Ball Escape” 2 CD while reading the wonderful “If I Could Write Poetry” book about Dan Tracey’s lyrics which also includes an entry by Wally himself!
