Talonflame and Mudsdale gijinkas. They’re both cowboys donning their respective colors (mostly red and blue). The talonflame has a long cape with the same chest patterning as the pokemon, and feathers in his hat that are the same tail feathers as a talonflame. Mudsdale has chaps that have mudsdale’s distinctive mud-caked feathers, and a long braid that looks similar to mudsdale’s mane.

Here’s some proof that it was actually an additional 10% in royalties & that my piece was supposed to be the cover. The last picture is what was published. About 1/2 got cropped from the top and the bottom. Never saw a single cent, and he never told me it wasn’t the cover anymore.
