New Mexicans need a raise. Plain and simple. Right now, the state minimum wage is $12/hr. That is not enough to support a family or make ends meet. As governor, I’ll implement an ongoing adjustment of the minimum wage so our families don’t get buried in rising costs.
On the anniversary of Stonewall, we honor the courage of those who stood up, spoke out, and helped change the course of history. Their fight reminds us that progress is possible when people come together to demand dignity, equality, and justice.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing work to create opportunity for all. It was an honor to join New Mexicans today in celebrating the history, culture, and contributions of the Black community.
Today we honor the strength, resilience, and joy of Black communities. As we celebrate the legacy of liberation, we also recommit ourselves to building a better future for every New Mexican, together.
I shared my vision for a better New Mexico in all 33 counties, and together, all 33 counties showed they share a vision for lower costs, accessible healthcare, safe communities, and better education. . This is what’s possible when you show up and leave no community behind.

The Healing Field Ceremony in Questa was a beautiful reminder of the ultimate sacrifice so many service members have made. This Memorial Day, my heart is with the families who have lost a loved one defending our freedoms and democracy.
I kept the irons hot on the farm in Roy. With family and friends, we branded cattle, celebrated the rain, and made memories. So many New Mexicans did the same thing this weekend. These are the traditions, values, and communities I’m proud to stand up for.
Call time with Rev. Dr. Becknell is the best! We had a great time chatting with folks, making sure they have a plan to vote, and hearing from people across New Mexico. Early voting is open till May 30, and same-day voter registration will be available on Election Day, June 2. Let’s get this done.
