I was sixteen years old when I saw this and it stays with me to this day. I knew nothing of the history behind it and yet it I could feel the history behind it. Even thinking about it makes me want to cry.

so, one of my neighbor's side hustles is finding, fixing, and selling old audio equipment, so I was asking his opinion on CD players because I want to get back into physical media so now this is at my house and I cannot tell you how ridiculously happy the sight of this absolute unit makes me.

A very 1991-looking boom box with dual tape decks and an am/FM radio and a multi-cd rack. It is big, but still light enough to hold over my head for the duration of "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel (if you know, you know)

to this day I am grateful to the person at the rescue who somehow, in her infinite wisdom, knew that Birdie and I were meant for each other. My search criteria would have never led me to Birdie, but she encouraged me to meet her ("I think I have the perfect cat for you") and the rest is history.

Name a TV show you feel like no one remembers but you: Parker Lewis Can't Lose (Still hits the same, rewatching it on Plex right now)

A promotion still for the show Parker Lewis Can't Lose. The actor who plays the bully is aggressively hugging the three main characters. Fun fact, that actor who played the bully ended up having the biggest career of the entire cast. He played Jerry on ER!

this type of thing is one of the most hostile fucking user experience choices, it's all over the place and I hate it. (see also: when hotdogs come 6 in a pack and buns come 8 in pack).

A food packaging label that lists the number of servings as "3.5". Like, what in the actual fuck? who thought this was a good decision? what customer wants an extra half serving? what am I supposed to do with that? why not throw one more slice in, raise the price slightly, and make it four servings? why not take one slice out and make it three servings? and don't even get me started on how hot dogs now come with 6 servings while the buns come with 8...
