OK, so it's not a Marillion record at all, but it was a big influence on Fish. Peter Hammill's 1977 album Over is a must-hear if Script for a Jester's Tear is your favourite. Moments into the second song Autumn, you'll see exactly what I mean.
Well now, one day Emily stole a thing and she brought it back to the shop and put it down in front of Bagpuss.
@andymillerl78.bsky.social is another happy reader of Coldwell. Thank you, Andy!
John Symon enjoyed reading Coldwell today, saying some lovely things about the book and its presentation. Available from @roadsongbooks.bsky.social Link to buy in the first comment below.
Talking about and signing copies of Coldwell at Hestia Books in Wirksworth last week. Coldwell is still available from @roadsongbooks.bsky.social or to order via your local independent bookshop.
The wonderful @scarthinbooks.bsky.social of Cromford has been using green shelf labels with a swan for as long as I can remember. So it was a great honour last week to find that I have one of my own, or at least that Coldwell is the only representative of Eyam Plague Fiction currently in stock.
On Thursday next week (16th July) I'll be at Hestia Books in Wirksworth, talking and answering questions about Coldwell. See you there for more about 1666 and all that. #saturdaynightsalrightforwriting

P.121 of Never Rub Bottoms With a Porcupine and Other Gems from the New Statesman Weekend Competitions 1968-1978. With thanks to @paulhtfp.bsky.social and wondering whether @jonathancoe.bsky.social has seen this.
Trying to work on the new project, but distracted by an idea discussed earlier with @paulhtfp.bsky.social.
A year ago, I opened my first copy of Coldwell. Since then, the novella has sold really well and is now on its 4th print run. Lots of readers have given positive and encouraging reviews (big thanks to you all) and all at @roadsongbooks.bsky.social have been terrific with input, advice and support.
