I bought this in Wigtown 2 years ago and saved it for coming back this week. It was written in the late 70s, partly in order to fund the director's cut. Hence Lord Summerisle's "umber tones", which is brilliant. I'm about 45m from Burrowhead rn.

Walked almost to the cellar arch of Cruggleton Castle, perched dramatically above the sea. It's probably 5 years since I did this, from the land side. Seaside path is tricky & overgrown but mostly in shade.
Knockcushan gardens & aviary. There was a doomster hill ( or cnoc) in Govan, at Water Row.
Next phase: Girvan to Newton Stewart by bus. Only about a dozen folk on the beach.
Had an overnight in sweltering Finnieston before I set off for Wigtownshire, via Ayr & Girvan.
I'm going down to Wigtownshire, with vouchers for the book town, this week. This map tells you, if you meet those the Irish call the Good People or The Other Crowd, don't eat their food & don't tell them your name. "If they ask...they mean it very literally."
Last night's double bill plus 50. Both are stories of Revenge thru Mad Science. Both play with gender roles and attitudes to deformity. In D-D, Wonderful Life's Mr. Potter in drag stalks his enemies with deadly homonculi. The sentimental happy ending is a bit of an anticlimax.
50 yrs since I got my first copy of Kirby's Eternals, in Strathaven. I'd read my cousin's copy of Von Daniken's Gold of the Gods on a visit to their farm a year or so earlier, so I knew about Ancient Astronaut theory. Much later, and detrimentallly, Marvel would fold the series into its mythos.
The Devil Doll turned up again, 4 years later, in week 4 of the 1980 season- the one trailed by this fondly-remembered Radio Times cover.
Aw, that's sad. I enjoyed reading how tough & fearless she was. I used to recommend the book to senior classes.
I made myself laugh with "Avengers: Square Go" so, what if Jack Jester or Grado were in a John Romita Spider-Man comic? Square Go, alias I. Wright.
Also missing, from the Pulps: Doc Savage and the Spider, an antecedent of both Batman and Spider-Man. Dynamite Comics have utilised many of the public domain characters, in the last two decades

Evri brought my copy of this nearly 52 years old DC comic. Aparo & Haney's quintessential Batman. Spectre, the originator of Ghost Rider's penance shtick. Plus 60s Titans & Brave/Bold stories.
More soaps should have their best actors play repressed school teachers possessed by the spirit of a psychic showgirl, who was the victim of a vampire.
Billie Whitelaw's performance is clearly the model for Miss Pansy Faye, when she possessed Charity Trask, and "I'm Gonna Dance For You."
The 1925 Phantom surprised me in that it doesn't have the Cheated and Disfigured by Acid backstory unlike Rains & Lom. Erik is a criminally insane musical autodidact who escaped Devil's Island.
This is the playlist for my 60th in Brutti Compadres. This week's updated version would include Bowie's When You Rock'n'Roll With Me, Prince's I Wanna Be Your Lover and My Old School by the Dan.
He was so prolific. The two graphic novels were great; I wish there were more.
