Remembering just how much I like reading short stories. The story “The Second Bakery Attack” may well be perfect.
Happy Caturday from Fred who is helping @anthonyzach.be with post holiday laundry.
My current favourite toilet sign (at the Brasserie de la Senne taproom).
Enjoying some English à la Blake et Mortimer cet après-midi. Damned! Nuts!
Good morning Womble! I hope the weather’s not too uncomfortable where you are. I’ve just started “Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?” by Jeanette Winterson.
Fun in the sewers. The museum part is very informative and the actual sewer mildly terrifying, particularly when NOONE else is around and there are lots of weird sounds. Disclaimer: The photo in which I’m dressed up is not the real sewer, just a recreation.
Spotted in IKEA: The medical team we all need. #CanineFirstResponders
Good morning Womble! I’m working my way through a pile of albums from the BDthèque. Currently enjoying the Largo Wynch series and some Blake and Mortimer. Current non-fiction read is “I Can’t Stop Thinking About VAR” by Daisy Christodoulou.
My “books read and films watched” notebook is looking good, thanks to the new stickers from @cynderness.bsky.social which I just added.
My brother (whom I’ve not seen since last year) visited our mum’s a week before I did and left a book for me to read, like a message from afar. It’s brilliant, beautifully weird and now I’m crying on a train, to absolutely no one’s surprise who knows me well.
I have also been press ganged* into playing the ukelele and jigsaw-solving. *(I didn’t take much persuading really.)
My research continues… I have no idea if this is how other people hold scissors.
That made me go and check (will the chain ever end?) and I can reveal this is how I hold a pencil.
Hi Womble. I’m currently reading “Zami: A new spelling of my name” by Audre Lorde and rereading Molière’s “Tartuffe” after watching a very modern production of the play last night, which managed to take most of the humour out and turn Tartuffe into a real monster.
Well that was a very nice day-and-a-half. Now heading back to Brussels for a big sleep.
I like Cynar spritz. We tried it in Venice. Cynar also sponsor FC Venezia.
Stretching the definition of “typical” to breaking point. Does the finger food come with Andalouse?
I finally finished reading some non-fiction about wandering through Brussels neighbourhoods (interesting, but the author has some odd bees in his bonnet) and now back to Belgian YA dystopian fiction. So far, it’s pretty good.
