🌡️Jena just experienced its hottest period (since 1824). During the historic late-June 2026 heatwave, temperatures exceeded 39°C on two consecutive days, and June was about 3°C warmer than the 1991–2020 average. The first half of 2026 was 0.7°C warmer (1991–2020). @dwdderwetterdienst.bsky.social

Day 4 at the 🌍✨ #EGU26 @egu.eu was highlighted by great presentations. @vitusbenson.bsky.social presented “Mechanistic Interpretability for Mapping Ecosystem Functioning” and Bing Xu presented “Uncertainty-aware Spatiotemporal Inference of Landslide Events” presentation in the PICO session.
🚀The Final @elsa-ai.eu brought together researchers, industry, policymakers, and European AI initiatives for 3 days of talks, and discussions on secure & trustworthy AI at Saarbrücke🇪🇺ELSA had received funding from Horizon Europe, and was led by Mario Fritz and coordinated by Miriam Schwartz.
