Done with the book manuscript. Took me a year, which not bad. This is not exactly the book I promised the press. Now to convince them that I'm not insane. Hopefully they won't get cold feet, and I have to spend extra time finding one that gets it.🤞🏼

One of the least surprising insights of our survey is that non-tenured faculty are more afraid overall. I am non-tenured myself. I helped produce the report, and I'm willing to boost & talk about it. Some of us have to, however prudently, while the risk is mid. #yalereport aaupyale.org/report/

The most hilarious thing is that I'd never used canvas until this semester. Being a DHer and a pro-privacy pirate, I always made my own simple websites for courses (I understand most of you don't know how to do this. I'm aware and not judging). The one semester where I got lazy.... Good times.

Join us in at the Amistad Center in New Orleans this year for Round #3 of Who Owns Black Data, and to celebrate the Amistad's 60th anniversary. This year we'll be focusing on the future of the material past, and how that past can speak to Black futures.

Thinking about what just happened. This tool allowed me to created a ridiculous number of scripts that were uniquely designed to get around this one bespoke viewer/API. Would've taken me weeks to do that just to get 72 pages I need to consult: not worth it. 10 minutes now: totally worth it.
