Santa Claus tells Joey, a blond man in a brown shirt: "Presents? HA! I've seen your browser history!" Joey replies "Oh it's not THAT bad." Off panel, a voice says "uh..." and then we see the Devil at a computer, looking disturbed. "You need to delete this," the Devil says.

Frankenstein's monster has been pulled over by a highway patrolman. The patrolman is looking at Frankenstein's ID. "This ID says Frankenstein, but you're clearly Frankenstein's monster. I'm gonna need you to step out of the vehicle."

A blond man glares at an embarrassed genie. Blond man says "No, I said it's hot sure whish I had a POPSICLE." Meanwhile, on the counter, is a hand sickle in a pope costume.

Bigfoot, holding a shoebox, glares at a store employee. "Look, I know what you people call me, but I only need a size 7."

A little meta humor from Archie x Army of Darkness #3, ON SALE TODAY.

In this series of panels from Archie x Army of Darkness, Jughead (wearing his crownlike beanie which I am still amazed to learn is supposed to be a modified fedora) says to Veronica, Betty, and Reggie "Haven't we established that food helps me stay calm? And if this isn't the time for calm, I don't know what is. I mean, who could've imagined the undead taking over Riverdale?" In panel two, the fourth wall is broken. Veronica looks right at the reader. Betty and Reggie look away. Jughead coughs. We are indirectly referencing the zombie series "Afterlife with Archie," where Jughead kicks off a zombie apocalypse in Riverdale. I love meta humor, OK?

Rereading Complicated Fun for the first time in ages; let me share a great bit of dissonance with you. One of Mpls’ original proto punk rock bands (similar sound to the Ramones) were called the Suicide Commandoes, and I promise they don’t look like you think.

From Archie x Army of Darkness #2, I put Archie into three situations that all happened in real life when I worked at a big box store as a teenager.

Three comic book panels of Archie dealing with nightmare customers in a big box store. These anecdotes are all 100% true. The first has a man called a return freak, he holds a cardboard box of parts. His dialogue reads: "I got this from your Tacoma store back in '87. Can I get a refund here? I don't have a receipt." The second panel has a woman referred to as a style weirdo. She holds a blender. Her dialogue reads: "Do you have this in green? It won't go with my kitchen unless it's in green!" The final panel has a less-than-tech-savvy man in a suit and sunglasses poking Archie in the chest. His dialogue reads: "Just tell me how many batteries an AC adapter needs! I don't want to get home and not have enough!"

A red typewriter with a blue toolbar and a single sheet above its round eyes. It has 26 yellow buttons and is raised up on four black wheels. And, since it is anthropomorphic, has Freon arms with brown gloves and three fingers on each hand. It used to say “Noo na noo na noo” before typing and should be treated as the hero it once was.

In honor of me tabling at a con this weekend, here's a Christmas comic strip I drew last year.

A four panel DOWNSIDE comic strip. In panel one, an incredulous Santa Claus says to Joey, a bottle blond man in a brown shirt: "Presents? HA! I've SEEN your browser history!"

In panel two, Joey argues to Santa, saying "Oh, it's not THAT bad."

In panel three, Santa and Joey react to an off-panel speaker saying "Uh..."

In panel four, the speaker is revealed to be the Devil, sitting at a desk with Joey's laptop, looking horrified. The Devil says: "You need to delete this."
