got to work today and saw that the nest was finally empty 🥲 then I noticed one of the fledglings still sitting there watching me he let me get close then took off in an adorably clumsy flight, so I got one final picture of him leaving I want to think the one I saved stayed to say goodbye to me 🥹

they’ve lost so much baby floof that they’ve begun to look like Distinguished Gentlemen wearing fur scarves

Two Eastern phoebe fledglings in a mossy nest, genders unknown. One is sitting partly on top the other with its pale breast feathers on its sibling’s head. The other’s body is turned away, with the last of its soft downy brown feathers over its adult feathers on its wings and back.

first week of work complete! it was a great first week 💕 I learned a ton and feel very accomplished for all that I achieved and the programs I led, and I got to pet a fawn and handle a threatened species of turtle! I’m so incredibly thrilled that my coworker and I have so much in common too
