Global Antibiotic R&D Partnership (GARDP)
@gardp
Putting public health needs at the centre of antibiotic drug development to address the crisis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
In Luska, Zambia, alongside #RAAC2026, GARDP brought together government representatives, researchers, clinicians, advocates and AMR experts to help inform its 2027–2031 strategy. The most effective solutions are grounded in regional expertise and shaped by those closest to the challenge.
🚨 This is BIG! The Thai FDA has approved NUZOLVENCE® (zoliflodacin), a first-in-class oral antibiotic for the treatment of uncomplicated urogenital gonorrhoea, just 6 months after its initial approval by the US FDA. 🔗 gardp.org/thai-fda-app...
✨ We've got a fresh new look! The new GARDP website is live — our biggest digital evolution since we were founded. Explore our programmes, projects, research, stories and more through a faster, more intuitive experience. 🌐 gardp.org Bacteria are evolving. So must we. #AMR #GlobalHealth
Together with Shionogi and regional partners, GARDP is supporting the responsible introduction of cefiderocol by expanding access alongside stewardship. 🧾 Read the PR: gardp.org/last-resort-... @dovemedicalpress.bsky.social @shionogiincus.bsky.social #AMR #AccessToMedicines
⚠️ People across Latin America and the Caribbean face delays in accessing Reserve antibiotics, even after these medicines have been approved elsewhere. Our new review explores why, and highlights opportunities to improve access through coordinated regional action. 🔗 Read: tinyurl.com/4xjm5ay9
A major milestone for GARDP's #NeoSep1 trial 🎉 The first baby has now been enrolled in Vietnam, continuing the expansion of this landmark neonatal sepsis trial from Africa into Asia.

Key themes included antibiotic innovation, resilient manufacturing chains, and equitable access. Our thanks to the Government of the Netherlands and all speakers and participants for a rich discussion. A special shout-out to artist, Silvia Alba, for this stunning visual summary. #AMR
Together with the Government of the Netherlands, GARDP convened 90+ participants from EU institutions, Member States, industry and civil society in Brussels to discuss AMR as a preparedness, resilience and competitiveness challenge.
With the G7 Summit in France bringing global challenges into focus, one question deserves attention: ⚠️ What would healthcare look like if antibiotics stopped working? Dr. Norio Ohmagari, infectious diseases specialist and health security expert in Japan, explains how #AMR is a growing reality.
🚨 This is BIG! 👶JIPMER in India enrolled the first baby in Asia into the NeoSep1 trial. Since then, babies have been enrolled at the Rohtak site, with Mumbai next. 🧪 Led by GARDP and partners, NeoSep1 is one of the most ambitious clinical trials ever undertaken for neonatal sepsis.
