My adventure game puzzles have usually been deemed "nonexistent" or "too easy," and I've been actively trying to improve that aspect with my new game. So getting this bit of tester feedback this early in the process gives me hope that I'm going in the right direction ☺️

Tester comment on Discord: "I think the puzzles hit just the right amount of challenging where I always had a hunch of what I need to strive towards and how I might be able to achieve my goals but it still took some looking around to solve them so at no point did I feel like I was really hopelessly stuck in the game but it wasn't just a cakewalk from point A to B either"

This comment on a trailer for an awful AI-generated fan game made me laugh.

Great effort! Just something you may find good to report on your website: It works with Wine on Linux too pretty easily! Don't listen to people nagging about the Al slop, how do they expect one guy to do everything perfectly without Al? Just nuts. You should add a Main game menu so you can load your game without going through the onboarding again and again.

Imagine going to a Chinese restaurant, ordering and eating a full meal and then leaving a review saying, “yeah it was really well prepared and cooked, but I guess I just hate Chinese food? I wish it had been a burger instead. 0/10.”

I mean this is lightyears better then Lamplight City. The voice actors are drastically better, the game's story is better, the characters are better, the art and design are better. The game is also decently long at around 15 hours. The amount of choices in this game also have real impact on the story as the story goes as opposed to it just having some random note at the very end. So again, this is a really well done adventure game and yet...! just could not stand it. I was soo bored, like ridiculously bored.
I think my problem is I must hate westerns. I also want basically all adventure games to be murder mysteries and this isn't that. This is a Oregon Trail the adventure game. Literally, you go on a wagon across the west and your wagon constantly encounter things on the trip. I just didn't care. I wanted to be in the super cool city of New Presidio, you know with like people and airships and crazy scientists...! didn't want to be in a wagon meeting weirdos as I travel across the west.
I'm sure a lot of people would like that and the amount of choices you can make on your way can make for a fun game...but | just didn't care.
