Recovering drug addict here, and HunterBiden is absolutely right. Shame never got me sober, It kept me using. Recovery happened because someone kept the door open long enough for me to walk through it. Harm reduction is how we keep that door open, you can't recover if you're dead! #WeDoRecover

Wow. My documentary RESURRECTION—the story of how I overcame decades of gangs, addiction, homelessness, trauma, and near-death experiences was endorsed by Gabor Maté. We've now submitted it to 10 film festivals and hope to release it later this year. Proof people can change their lives.

I’ve spent Easter homeless. I’ve spent Easter in food lines. I’ve spent Easter in prison. Today, I’m spending Easter with family. That’s what recovery does. Happy Easter everyone ❤️
Vancouver didn’t run out of time, it ran out of political will. Years of inaction. Then FIFA shows up and suddenly it’s “do something, quick.” Longer shelter hours aren’t solutions. They’re optics. Shelters aren’t housing. Never have been. They just hide the crisis instead of solving it.
With everything happening in the world right now, I decided to prioritize my mental health. Step 1: Eat an entire pack of bacon. Step 2: No regrets. 😁

My kids made me a card for 13 years sober today. They’ve never seen me use. They’ve never seen me in addiction. They never will. That’s what breaking the cycle looks like. This day means as much to me as my birthday. ❤️ I'm living the dream.
