Hello I am making music/games like anodyne, angeline era and @danchidays.bsky.social email analgesicproductions at gmail blog: They/them
Playing Kyoto xanadu reminded me to add a dialogue log to @danchidays.bsky.social !
Is that the practitioner of the eight leaves one blade technique, ashen chevalier, husband of Valimar the Ashen Knight, class VII member "Rean Schwarzer" in my Kyoto Xanadu
i got to bring out a take on the ryu umemoto vibrato bass for a second yesterday
We just hit our first milestone for beta testing @danchidays.bsky.social !! Excited for everyone to play and experience the story come this October. It's shaping up to be a fun adventure!
Cookies! And a curry coconut dark chocolate ice cream I tried (odd but interesting..)
I don't talk about this hobby much online but I'm huge into baking/desserts when I have the time and this ice cream cookbook is life changing stuff if you like American style ice cream! My tip is use tapioca starch (the book actually recommends it but uses corn starch bc of ease of availability)
Looking for a memorable adventure game in the Steam summer sale? Check out one of our games which are all on sale! Details in alt texts store.steampowered.com/developer/an...
Status update. - Localizing Danchi Days' ending - Prototyping stuff with Marina - I found this.
i was sad yesterday bc i thought that darker direction's couldve looked like some 80s/90s shonen stuff.. the new logo and trailer environments look more generic. UE5 high poly meshes mashed together with psuedo-toriyama character and ancient toriyama 80s design heal slime+bad color palette/lighting
Want to learn about some recently-released-but-overlooked games?? I'm happy to announce that the Unearthed Treasure Room showcase is coming back for Part 2!! Right before Summer Game Fest, we'll be premiering the showcase on... June 3rd at 4 PM Pacific (12 AM BST), on Youtube!!
new post on misc. topics! like.. - is cyclical game discourse a ritual for gamers - what is "BS" in games + AngEra design - what do I even want out of games?? - do games have artistic movements - losing award shows, fame... - religious change and internet - fruit buttondown.com/melodicambie...
i'm continuing the game music tradition of extremely catchy 1 minute loops for @danchidays.bsky.social! this will be your new favorite staircase song
or like the big dungeon is buried/interconnected skyscrapers in an otherwise fantasy world
i think if someone did a de:fanastasis/nepheshel-like in english and set it in suburbia it'd really take off. that souls/king's field "crawl thru an interconnected world and accumulate 10000 items while slowly learning a story" feel, but with rpg/arpg mechanics of some sort
i should write about cut levels sometime outside of the design notes/artbook. Kinda sad the fae hot spring had to go...closest thing to that is the rainbow pool that heals you near the new religion dudes. also i never noticed the rainbow here thank you @even-kei.bsky.social
Chapter 3 on @danchidays.bsky.social wrapped! You can spend a summer in suburban Japan in Danchi Days. Maybe even learn about some Japanese books and society 📚
for localizing @danchidays.bsky.social 50ish characters into english, i have a column where i keep notes on voice which make it easier to remember how they talk! reading's a big part of the game.. so it should feel fun/good for the english player to imagine NPC voices in their head
Just released The Old Ocean for Bandcamp Friday!! A free (re)release of all 71 outtakes/sketches from Even the Ocean's OST. Special music that I wrote back in 2013-5, in a nice dreamy/lofi style that I'd like to explore more some day 🎵 htch.bandcamp.com/track/sea-ca...
my 2 cents on bosses is..do what's right for your game and never look back... there'll always be naysayers..i've seen people pass the controller upon losing a Sense Game ONCE in Danchi Days, and they're fairly simple, with difficulty applied juust enough for a unique texture
for the 3 other nepheshel heads out there who read japanese, de fanastasis is pretty good so far! open ended exploration rpg with fromsoft souls atmosphere
been wanting to make an action game loosely inspired by the fun of sorting decks of cards (surely this has a gigantic potential market). but not actually about cardslol. maybe a topdown 2d game about sorting enemies... Sortslash. Is this already a thing somewhere
