I’m so proud of these. I cut the flower out of sheet metal myself. And I cut the rough opal myself. And they’re all adjustable. That was something I really wanted to do to make sure they’re accessible to as many people as possible, even though making a fixed size band is actually much simpler.

It’s weird to feel like your personal life is going well when the world around you is on fire. It hasn’t been a cakewalk—I’ve had sleepless nights, worked my ass off, dug deep and found new wells of creativity—but I’ve also had the luxuries of friends, family, financial stability, and all the love and support I could have asked for. While I end the year safe and warm inside my own home, so many others go unhoused, unseen, starved and frozen and killed in an ongoing genocide. So I’m telling myself the same thing I did when trying to resolve my complicated feelings about acquiring US citizenship: I’m going to take my good luck, my skill, and my art, and use it to contribute to the many communities I’m lucky to be part of, use it to protect the most vulnerable of us, and use it to leave the world at least a little better than I found it.

2025, a year in review:
- finishing out the year with homemade pizza and mocktails tonight
- got to write a story for Critical Role!
- met the cast and my fellow writers at C2E2
- got to do a panel and signing alongside my boo at C2E2
- did my first ever writing on a ttrpg for [redacted]
- finished 99% of draft one of my very first novel
- made a lot of jewelry that I’m very proud of (will do a separate compilation)
- continued to have the snuggliest cat and cutest husband
- 8 years of dating and 4 years married to said cute husboo
- became an AUNT!!!
- was nominated for an Ignyte
- learned how to make lampwork glass beads
- became a US citizen and got to vote for Zohran Mamdani in my first election

I promise I don’t dress or look like that all (most… more than half…) of the time, I’m just 3 weeks out from the deadline to turn in my first novel and have 1.5 brain cells to rub together and I’d just gotten out of bed and I was!!! Not functional!!
