@hoomiku
Just your average overly tired nerdy Terran from Louisiana. (Note: views and opinions are my own.)
I love this, along with the idea that Columbo is straight up a fae or something. <3
Oh, definitely! Pictures don't do it justice, but it is still one of the most awe inspiring and moving things I've ever seen with my own eyes. <3 Enjoy it, and I wish I was in line to see this one and the 2027 one!
There's actually an amazing final gag I laughed even harder at just now. One of the accessories on the car is a TV antenna... which is funny because now I have a car with a cellular antenna that can stream videos on the dash. Wild that, in a way, 75 years later, the car of tomorrow really is here.
God, Swear Trek was wonderful. I still have this one saved because it's brilliant.
Look, blame the latest @wtyppod.bsky.social for this idea and I'm only mildly sorry...
Boy, disenfranchisement is FUN, y'all! It's SUPER fucking wonderful! I _LOVE_ participating in this process and having it not fucking matter! So anyway, fuck Jeff Landry and the rest of the GOP, because what the fuck, man.
So, I'm in Houston for the day looking at a car, but while I'm here... I paid a visit to the site of the Outpost Tavern, the astronaut bar near JSC that you might have seen in For All Mankind. It burned down many years ago and not much is left, but I'm the kind of space nerd to want to go there.
Regular long distance service is important! Dire Wolf Station has proven that and also proven that I really need to work with schedules more to balance things out...
Olive the Aftonsparv has been given a proper protective suit! They look pretty cute in it, honestly. The former owner of it has been gifted to my mom, so she now has a fuzzy teddy bear while my alien gets a snazzy outfit.
They literally had "HOME OF THE X-37B" on one of the doors when I was on a tour there in 2014 and I was just laughing at the absurdity of "We can't tell you what it does, but it lives here and we are PROUD OF IT." (Picture below not mine, sadly, but of the door to one of the OPFs)
It came from the latest bulletin from these folks, who apparently have dominion over these things. Congratulations!
@postoctobrist.bsky.social So someone in a server I'm in linked this... you now have an asteroid named for you, it seems.
... well, I'm adding this right up there to "listening to the audiobook of 'The Hot Zone' in the Atlanta Airport and seeing news of an Ebola outbreak" as forms of existential terror I wasn't aware I could experience.
I can hardly believe it and I just saw it: the aurora borealis, visible from a rest area north of Opelousas, Louisiana. I could even see a red glow with the naked eye... thats the coolest thing this space loving nerd has seen since the eclipse. <3
