Lichfield Street ends the street so the church at the top of the great photograph below is The Sacred Heart on Jasper Street, now hidden behind the trees .. Our family doctor had his practice on this street so technically we had our own 'Harley Street Specialist' to name-drop when social climbing!

Piccadilly (Part 1) The original shape of this historic town still exists, and as tired looking as it may be, it's a rock; it has character and elements that allude to a former greatness and you'll either write it off and put it down or you'll support it and want it to find its feet again ..
He's definitely endeared himself to the folk who own the security cameras!
The doors closed for the last time some weeks ago now but it's been an arduous process of getting gone .. a despot of a landlord who wanted a creative community and yet killed it off! Anyhow .. 70 artists gone and everything is out .. Unfortunately, had to leave the Victorian Quarry Tile floor!
Time has stood relatively still in this corner of S-o-T for a while; gone is Etruria Railway Station and the Gas Works that even I recall from the bus window on the way to college. Bye bye to the Twyfords building now : www.thestaffordshiresignal.co.uk/twyfords-dem... @staffssignal.bsky.social
The Bands; the good times .. the bouts of temporarily tinnitus! I regularly walk past the memories of such and fondly recall the time that I simply opened that door and walked into the Iron Maiden soundcheck unchallenged and watched in awe! The night that followed was awesome - my second ever gig!
#LookUp : A formidable chimney wins my 'Building of the day' consideration from a nosey up Leek today! Shoobridge Mill : Grade II Listed former Silk Mill of 1876 .. The link is, usefully, a comprehensive list of all the Mills in Leek and beyond... www.uktextilemills.com/mills/leek - Enjoy!
The chap was out watering his plants this morning .. 'It's a shame they're past their best...' he says! Yeah .. right!

I was shown a very nice and quite surprising little (pocket size!) gem of a book yesterday; Six Fairy Tales from The Brothers Grimm illustrated by David Hockney. www.themarginalian.org/2014/02/06/d...
Now boarded up, but a new gateway to a different future over the road! I'm likely standing on what was Chaplin's pub (thereabouts !).. the queue to many a gig at the Viccy Hall reached here in the days of no hospitality!

A place of inspiration even in the final stages of it's purpose, as observed by Mark Bailey, aka 'The Trent Vale Poet' .. trentvalepoet.bandcamp.com/album/dead-m...
‘Shelagh’s Story’ Rachel Brewster-Wright "Developing in the Dark" is a powerful analogue film photography portrait project and charity exhibition in The Atrium at Liverpool Central Library. The Stories & Images : www.littlevintagephotography.co.uk/helplines/ www.thehelplinehub.org
Coffee down at The Royal Albert Dock .. the first ever trip down here was with Art College in '84 when there was nothing here except a TV studio and a floating Britain in the water .. then came Tate with Rothko; Bacon sometime later, Schiele and Woodman .. and more besides. Nice to be back ..
Never did I think I'd find myself on such hallowed musical turf, but as gifted by the best of friends I found myself in the Cavern Club for a beer and a classic, after classic, after classic .. ad infinitum! #Liverpool
#LookUp on a fine day in Liverpool today .. Pier Head: The Royal Liver Building, The Cunard Building and The Port of Liverpool Building .. aka The Three Graces en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pier_Head
