Biking to the outdoor pool brings back memories of childhood! I try to take advantage as much as possible since in Chicago the pools are open only a couple of months.
Another last Friday of the month means another @chicritmass.bsky.social! Glad I braved the chance of rain on this one because I caught a lot of stylish peeps. I loved the color combos with green on Erin and Steve, Otis’ orange jumpsuit, Wally’s black-and-white top (first mass!! 🙌🏻)...
Braved some rather large puddles after Monday’s massive storms to join @bikegridnow.org’s Bike Jam along Lincoln Avenue to advocate for more bike infrastructure. I liked Ruben’s ensemble incorporating shades of lavender and Veronica looking fierce in basic black with jeans.

Headed to a friend’s for a backyard hang. I didn’t like the way this t-shirt looked tucked in, so I tied a little knot in it instead.
The gossip email I subscribe to included this to be snarky but it sounds awesome and I totally agree (except go to a park, not a parking lot).
Confession time: despite decades of riding around Chicago, I’ve never learned how to fix a flat tire. That’s what bike stores are for, right? Well, that changed when I went to BFF Bikes’ monthly Fix a Flat Clinic. I am now prepared with tire levers and a spare inner tube.
I ♥️ the new Humboldt Park bike lanes! Sacramento/Humboldt Park Boulevard is my preferred route for getting to Ukrainian Village and other nearby neighborhoods. In the past I’ve cut over to California or Kedzie because trying to navigate the park paths (which I’m not super familiar with) was a pain.
Had to commemorate reaching the 500 follower mark on the ‘gram! Thanks so much for joining me there and here. I’ve been recognized on rides, invited to join rides, and received a lot of great feedback. One thing I love about the biking community is that there’s room for all of us . . .

I missed posting about World Bicycle Day yesterday, but every day is Bicycle Day over here. I started this account to encourage more people to ride a bike for fun, to work, and more by showing that you don’t have to buy special clothes to make biking a big part of your life—and can even dress up!
Doodlebug has had a weepy eye so I took him to the vet and decided to bike there. He...didn't love it? But I don't think the car would have been much better. I do need to get one of those pet backpacks. Anyway, he survived (diagnosis: conjunctivitis) and got a Churu for his trauma.

Spotted this stylish rider at a stoplight—forgot to get a name. Love the mix of stripes and the grid pattern, and the plum-colored helmet literally topping off the ensemble!
