sunday session : yeah, i know i have posted this before. but this is still one of the best all time commercially available mixtapes ever. to the point that i have bought this for friends and sent it to them whenever i see it out in the wild.
sunday session : after some emf (looking forward to seeing them at lakefest), decided to revisit the second, and much stranger album by BRA. note : the coverart image on discogs is seriously lo-fi which seems to imply that no bugger bought this follow up.
sunday session : bloody hell, just remembered that i have the new fcukers remix ep to listen to. the album has really grown on me. tis a love of nu-era electroclash-y fun. quick update : the opening remix of 'if you wanna party .. ' by eli escobar is absolutely hitting the spot.
sunday session : after some randoms, tis time for a mixtape. have probably posted about this before, but hey. it's an absolutely brilliant cut-n-paste/hip hop styled mixtape built out of weird-n-wonderful stuff that dj format found on his euro travels.
saturday session : i have had a bit of a rollercoaster few days re my emotional groove. subsequently, when it comes to the endzone groove, i need this.
saturday session : has been a very long time since this got a spin here at hq, but given the way this evening has gone, i was always going to end up here.
saturday session : seen a lot of online love re this album recently due to it being an anniversary. time to give the remastered cd a spin as i bought the box set upon release. seem to recall the adverts aren't included, which means i may have to revert back to my orig cd edition.
i saw EMF close a local festival a couple of years ago. they were so so so good. much to my amazement. this is me at camp bestival in 2012. i wear this long sleeve at every festival i go to.
saturday session : after the sonic pounding by senser, tis time for something a little more lightweight and fun for a while.
saturday session : doubt i will listen to the whole album, but next week i have the chance to see this crew, and BRA in the same side stage of a small(ish) festival. unfortunately, senser are on at roughly the same time as madness, and i know my 12 year old inner self will win the battle. #grebo
thursday session : following the bloghouse mixtape was struggling re the next groove. decided to listen to one of the best noisy/electronica/dub albums by rhk. it's off the scale. not just his usual blend of bleeps and bass (though they feature of course) i absolutely f^cking love it.
thursday session : time for a mixtape. the freebie cd that kickstarted my love for bloghouse.
wednesday session : end zone groove swerve. no idea what on earth the lyrics are about, and i care not. the fact is this album has some insanely gorgeous music and melodies. found the 2cd reissue a couple of years ago in a charity shop for 50p. that was a very good day.
wednesday session : uh oh .. feeling a massive urge for some pwei. the last time this happened i disappeared down the grebo/dance/rock/noise rabbit for several weeks. also, there is a chance i will be seeing senser live at a festival soon. pray for me.
wednesday session : time for bass heavy breaks vs bloghouse chaos for a while.
wednesday session : yeah, after the synthwave swerve, tis back to sample based hip hop loops-n-beats. been a very long time since i heard this ep, but so far it is making me smile from ear to ear.
wednesday session : not a proper kavinsky album, this is definitely the soundtrack that changed things for the synthwave scene on which he featured.
saturday session : time for a machine noise mixtape. a weird one that for some reason i have in the archive. a japanese released promo mixtape by radio slave.
saturday session : genuinely was meant to have a quiet weekend, but got dragged out to a pub up in the hills, and so social excess happened. thankfully i am now back in the safety of the west wing. time for some rhk randoms.
friday post pub session : time for my fave oasis album. and no, i am not joking. i f^ckin love love love this album. the sheer excess is insanely brilliant.
friday post pub session : groove swerve. on the whole i am not one for rock music. but i f^ckin love qotsa. make of that what you will. this album is all time for me.
friday post pub session : i only found out about this justice 18 minute prog excess a couple of weeks ago. time for the walls of ireallylovemusic hq to shake.
friday post pub session : glastonbury 2005. literally hell on earth. the mud and chaos had worn me down. but ... lcd soundsystem in the peel tent sunday evening. i was battered and bruised beyond belief. but james and his crew revived me and made the insanity worth it.
