Season 5: Episode 4 of Adventure is Nigh! was pretty Role-Play heavy, which (as you can see below) means less cutting overall. Only scooped out an hour 20, AND i got to do my favorite impression durring the episode... annoyed David Lynch. Make sure to catch up before the new episode this Saturday!

The flow of an Adventure is Nigh! episode is something that is really important to me. I know people have asked for an unedited version, but the pacing is what (I think) helps us stand out among other TTRPG Actual Plays. Here’s the editing timeline for episode 503… I only cut out an hour!

This means the, in the editing process, I removed 1 hour and 6 minutes of footage.

6 Players, 1 DM, and a whole lot of rolling dice & looking up rules means that I cut out out over an hour and a half of Episode 2 of Adventure is Nigh! Out this Saturday.

Yeah, I’m starting a new exercise routine.

You can’t trick me into thinking this is an album of classical music… I know a wizard battle when I see one!!!

Psychomania (1973) A biker gang makes a deal with a demon to become an UNDEAD biker gang so they can wreak havoc on a small town with their motorcycles!!! ...and it's the most boring. Sometimes the problem digging through old B-movies is... they're just bad and not fun bad.

Did y'all know you could get a little bug companion in Skyrim!?!? I love them! This is now a bug run! Here's a picture with them and a chicken!!!

Tomorrow is new Adventure is Nigh! day!!! This might have been the most difficult episode to edit as it has the toughest balance of tension, drama, and dick jokes. Also it's later in the shoot, so while recording we were both excited and exhausted. 2 hours: 41 minutes of footage down to just 1:04.

In the software both video and audio is represented by rectangles.

The top time-lime shows all the collected footage from the Episode 8 shoot of Adventure is Nigh! in order with nothing removed. The total time is 2 hours and 41 minutes.
The bottom time-line features significantly more rectangles, all smaller in size. Each break in a rectangle represents an edit made and this bottom time-line has hundreds of breaks.
The bottom timeline has a total time of 1 hour and 4 minutes meaning 1 hour and 36 minutes has been cut out of the episode.
All to say that a lot of work and love goes into this show.
I think it's worth it as making this show it truly one of the highlights of not just my work day/week but in my life in general.
Season 4 has been themed heavily about the adventurers finding joy and by no coincidence, while it is a metric butt-ton of work, I've found a lot of joy within creating this show with all of these wonderful people.

Reminder that there's no new AiN this week... it's next week. But here's a sneak peak at the upcoming OneShot, a picture of 3 gorgeous people playing D&D and miming... something.
