So, having lugged many watering cans around the garden to water the plants because of the hosepipe ban, my plan of sitting on the sofa sipping a mint tea whilst putting my feet up as a reward has been foiled...

A black-and-white tabby cat sits couchant on the pillow I'd placed on the sofa, preparatory to putting my feet up for ten minutes.

Well, after the catastrophic disintegration of my bean frame in the wind, I have just spent over an hour doing my Jan-of-the-woods impression to lash various bits of it back upright.

Three separate A-frames with well grown French beans climbing up them. Frames should be sturdily joined by cross struts. Instead they are each being supported by elderly bamboo canes jammed into the ground and lashed together with string.
