lmao i feel like this is the first time i've gotten a political text mentioning israel by name. dnc must be having a real crisis over there
i flinched when going to buy a sony zx707 walkman yesterday and now they are sold out countrywide, production stopped, and ebay listings are +$200 i didn't need it (at all) but now that i actually can't have it i have giant regret. i hate it here
My silly PetLibro cat feeders are now ONVIF cameras and show up in Unifi Protect
perhaps the worst part is their stupid fucking ai support chat bot tried to gaslight me into thinking that since tokens are consumed by api at call time, its not required to actually give any sort of output. "oops, we used 'em already, sorry!" also shame on you too, intercom
so i decided to try /ultrareview because i was curious how much it costs. anthropic used $60 of my money on tokens and ultimately the review failed without a usable output. if theres anything that would radicalize me into spending $20k on gpus, its honestly probably this.
Anyway, the hard part reverse engineering the PetLibro video protocol is done. Now for the fun stuff (although I just realized I have to do even more hardware hacking for cat devices in a couple of months)
ai is bad but ai is also reverse engineering my cat feeder camera so i dont have to use their piece of shit app anymore to look at my cats so is ai really all that bad
i went for a walk because i felt my blood pressure rising and saw one of the baby owls and now all i want to do is take my camera and go back to photograph it if i'm not creatively fulfilled by design, my attention will just wander elsewhere
whenever someone asks me to give a presentation, my goal first and foremost is always to make them immediately regret that choice
My homelab is sprawling. While some parts are well-adopted by others, @vusniere.bsky.social isn't using nearly enough of it. Most dashboard packages are single-user only, so everyone has to have the same start screen. Or they're ugly. Instead of writing an HTML file, I burned trees to make my own.
Then, I broke my back by disassembling almost my entire rack to swap out my switch for an even more expensive switch on paper thin reasoning... but it works, and i'm happy this actually probably took like 12 hours start to finish, despite my best efforts to move quickly
Anyway, yesterday I broke my back continuing to weed and clean my plant patches in the front of my house and started on the backyard
made a little site for selling my stuff yardsale.atelier.house got a lot more stuff to add but if you want something lmk
I added a track progress indicator and scrobbling to this since I'm just listening to music at my PC in this app now. Adding scrobbling means it works with jedmund.com 🙂
should i have spent time making this? probably not, but we're not in any rush over here
