Okay, nobody start any interesting conversations about 2001 for the next week.
The holy grail that I believe will forever be out of reach are the Kent Melton (RIP) Batman sculptures, which I always regret missing in '89, but also were one of the reasons I started sculpting, so y'know... (Plus I'd immediate ruin these by blacking in Batman's eyes.)
Every now and then I check ebay to see if things I've coveted have become affordable. And sometimes... They have!
Still learning how to use the resin printer. Here’s my sculpt of an updated design of the Gorn from Star Trek (after Wah Chang).

My first test run of action figures heads was pretty successful, except the scale was very slightly off. But the detail came out INCREDIBLY well.
If you see this, reskeet with a Sentai team that is not Power Rangers or Super Sentai.
I know you were all worried, but be reassured that yes, I did fully sculpt a Bruce Wayne head to make sure it fit under Batman’s cowl for what’s going to be the head of a 3 3/4” action figure.
Folks, it looks like we have a working 3D resin printer. Thank you all for your support and suggestions as I take my first, stumbling steps on this journey!
You never know with ebay: I just wanted a photo of Dobie and his good buddy Maynard, but looks like it’s an actual CBS promotional photo from 1960. Still virtually worthless, but really cool.
The Astonishing Ant-Aunt (a joke that did not connect with me because I pronounce the AU in "aunt").
I forgot about this surprisingly bloody fantasy sequence in the first episode where Maynard G. Krebs (Bob Denver) is violently gunned down by cops!
Although I was not the one who posted The Last Dragon, I was enough of a fan of that movie that I hired character actor Mike Starr to more-or-less reprise his role from that movie for a book-and-record I made.
And here I was doing my best Eliot R. Brown cutaway to show how the superhero Impact’s costume worked.
Waaay back in the early 90s, I had an idea to write and art direct a comic utilizing artists I knew with different specialties: one could draw cars, another anatomy, etc. And the conceit of the comic was there was a superhero… Who was actually a TEAM of superheroes.
I think I’m just about ready to try 3D printing this guy- wish me luck!
