I've championed this for many years now: Nuneaton and North Warwickshire should get to make their own decisions on how local services are delivered. Today's decision puts Nuneaton back in control of these decisions.
Great to speak to so many residents at Saturday's market - I'm always available to listen to concerns and happy to pick up casework on the go. We had background music thanks to some fantastic buskers raising money for the Venezuela Earthquake Appeal! You can make a donation here: buff.ly/fGPorVU
Here's what I've been up to for the last sitting week in Parliament👇 There's lots more that doesn't make it onto these posts - meeting ministers about youth unemployment, visiting the warm hub and hygiene bank at Grove Farm Community Centre.
It's confirmed! 📢The new Warwickshire North council will: 🏘️ Speed up decisions 🛠️ Improve services 💪 Empower communities This means: More value for your council tax, spent locally Fewer politicians, greater accountability All council services under one roof – no more checking who’s in charge!
The Hillsborough Law has finally passed through Parliament, and I was proud to vote for it yesterday. None of this would have happened if it weren’t for the families and campaigners who have fought for 37 years for this law in the memory of the 97.
It was great to join the Literacy Trust in Parliament to celebrate the #NationalYearofReading2026 and promote the work of our fantastic libraries in Warwickshire. 📚
This weekend, we celebrated Nuneaton Pride's fourth annual event, made even more special to be asked to open the event, and introduce my friend and colleague Rachel Taylor MP. On the day, I was pleased to launch my LGBTQ+ Community Anthology.
Great to visit the 3M Training & Skills Centre at MIRA Tech Park today and see how this major investment is helping to develop the skilled workforce our automotive and manufacturing sectors need.
The Veterans Contact Point (soon to be renamed as the Len Hardy Centre) in Nuneaton do an amazing job working with our local veterans. That's why I'm supporting a Nuneaton bid for funding from the Ministry of Defence's VALOUR programme - up to £1 million for our Veterans Contact Point.
Yesterday marked 78 years since the birth of the NHS, one of Britain’s proudest achievements. Proud to represent George Eliot Hospital, as well as all of the brilliant services that make up the NHS in Nuneaton, from the community nurses to the estates teams.
⬆️ these are just a few of the things I’ve been up to since I joined the Education Select Committee last week!
THIS WEEKEND⚽‼️ 📅 Sunday 5 July 🕒 2pm – 5pm 📍 The Pingles Stadium, Avenue Road, Nuneaton, CV11 4LX Entry is free, and everyone is welcome! If you’d like to stay updated on my work and future community events, follow the Nuneaton Matters WhatsApp Channel here: buff.ly/6IPxuje
Are you a business or retailer based in Nuneaton? I'll be joined by Trading Standards, Nuneaton BID and NBBC at the Hilton on Thursday, to hear from businesses about experiences with retail or business crime, and talk about what steps we're taking to prevent this, at the local and national level.
Great to catch up with Liz Hancock, CEO at Mary Ann Evans Hospice at their annual Summer Fayre event! A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, supported or donated at this year’s Fayre, celebrating the Hospice’s 35th anniversary 🎂
It was a pleasure to lay a wreath at this year’s annual George Eliot Fellowship Ceremony. 💐 Mary Ann Evans is hugely important to our towns’ history and heritage, and I’m grateful for groups like the George Eliot Fellowship, who keep this history alive and accessible for Nuneatonians today.
Continuing the Armed Forces Day celebrations in Bedworth today! 🇬🇧 Proud to support our serving Armed Forces, Veterans, Reservists, Cadets, Families and Charities across Nuneaton and beyond. Especially proud that this year will see the Armed Forces Covenant fully adopted into UK law!
I tried casting a vote while wearing sight‑loss simulation goggles, using devices with tactile and audio support. It showed just how many barriers people still face when voting. Thank you RNIB for coming to
Standing together at Nuneaton Town Hall to honour our Armed Forces. The Armed Forces Flag was raised on Monday at Nuneaton and Bedworth Town Hall to mark Armed Forces week. A powerful reminder of courage, duty, and community spirit.
It’s confirmed! I’m honoured to be joining the Parliamentary Education Select Committee, after being elected by my colleagues. This means I’ll be scrutinising the work, policies and spending of the Department for Education, alongside the work I already do as an MP! 📚
Happy Father’s Day to everyone across Nuneaton 💙 A day to recognise all those who show up in a fatherly way, dads, stepdads, grandads, carers, mentors, and the people who’ve been there when it’s mattered most. I know it can be a mixed day for some. However you're spending it, I hope it feels right
My weekly round-up of what Labour's been delivering in government. 👇
Please find below my letter to the Leader of Warwickshire County Council regarding his recent comments on our libraries.
Celebrating 800 years of Nuneaton’s markets! Proud to see this milestone being marked in our Town Centre — get down there and support our fantastic local traders. 🎉🛍️
A wonderful morning connecting with faith leaders across Nuneaton on our Faith Walk. So many shared values, one community. 🙏
