Good job me. Now just got to put everything back together and get back to my lazy day off with that sense of pride and satisfaction we all get when we fix something ourselves.
That was just the right size. 👍🏻 That’s a lot of water I’ve been transporting around the nation lately.
Success! Now I just have to hope this tub is big enough or fast hands to swap for the second one (not pictured) I have standing by.
Ok. Hose detached. Receptacle in place. Gonna hit it with the air.
After removing my amplifier to give me some more room my intention is to disconnect this rubber pipe from the bottom and blast air up through it with my tyre compressor. This will hopefully dislodge whatever is blocking it and the water should flow. Vessels stood by to catch it.
My day off will be spent unblocking the drain hole from my AC condenser. I will be doing this parked in the street on a hill outside where I’m staying using only the tools I have with me and anything I can MacGuyver along the way.
Then I ran the car for 5 minutes with the MAF sensor disconnected to reset the ECU and now it seems to be idling fine. 🤞🏻 We will see how I go driving back and forth around Scotland. I feel good about how it’s running in the garage. Updates from the road as I drive 250 miles this afternoon. (2/2)
Ok. I gave the 850 some medicine as advised by a friend who also has an 850 T5. I blasted a load of EGR cleaner down the air intake and had someone keep the revs up as it wanted to die…(1/2)
I have realised I took zero pictures of my own car parked up in such a great position near the castle. But I managed to snag a screen grab like yours off the arrival convoy video.
Just a clip stolen off the Hagerty instagram to show how many cars were there.
That’s it. Those are all my pics. It was so hot today. Massive turnout, I’d be interested to see numbers of attendees. Also I don’t know any of the winners yet. I’ve just got home. 940 did a great job. Thank you to @andrewelan.bsky.social @mikeshaw.bsky.social @norwichgiant.bsky.social
Love the table setup in the Espace. The Micra had only 2000 miles on it.
This little Datsun 3 door was my pick from the concourse. Absolute gem. I now love Nissan Prairies and their pillarless doors.
Here’s the pictures I took today at #FOTU in the order I took them. Please to enjoy. @norwichgiant.bsky.social here with his regular sized coffee cup.
Calms down when it warms up but obviously this is a concern. It’s got a new throttle position sensor. There’s no obvious vacuum lines disconnected or damaged that I can see. Good job I’m not about to spend the next few weeks driving it hundreds of miles. 😒
Cleaned the 850 idle control valve and MAF but my idle is still erratic. Start up and my revs fluctuate up and down. My Lambda warning light is on too. Air leak somewhere maybe?
Some of those weeks are in Liverpool so I may be able to sleep in my own bed and commute to work! Can you imagine? Commute in my car. Not my bed. That’s not how beds work. Some of the other weeks are Aberdeen though so that will mean at least one 6-7 hour drive at some point.
Good morning. I’ve been away actually working in the film & TV industry for two weeks. Booked until mid September which is a relief. Very tired after driving back from Scotland last night so I can prep for FOTU today. Got an 940 to wash & an 850 idle control valve & MAF sensor to clean.
Back on set for a few weeks. Really good crew and nice to be up in Scotland for a change. I had been in a bit of a pit of late due to lack of employment and a sense of worth. This is helping. Currently got stuff booked through to mid September 🤞🏻
If only there was some way of harnessing this heat, transforming it into usable clean energy via some sort of alchemy or magic. I’m not a scientist.
Ultimately a successful day MOT wise. There was a fail at first. Split boots on the track rod ends. 😭 Luckily the garage were able to source some, fit them & retest all in the same day. I’m back home now with new parts fitted + fresh MOT. 😊 All set for FOTU as I’m away working until then. Woo!
I remember the Shallow Grave Opel Manta that Ewan MacGregor pushes into the flooded quarry getting spotted in an episode of Taggart years later. The film crew never fished the car out. They did once people noticed. Naughty.
