I hate this sign. A lot of people think bikes are *required* to use bike lanes. When signs like this go up during construction it confuses people about the law. Like so many, I've been yelled at, honked at, and aggressively passed for exiting a bike lane that is dangerous—obstructed or damaged.

Yesterday there was a community meeting about the Homan Site (that patch of mostly nothingness in front of Gilman Sq Station). Mayor Wilson announced that he wants retail, daycare, and housing on the location. In the short term, he wants to activate it as a community space. Details are forthcoming.

Somerville spent some of its participatory budgeting dollars on a BurrowRx machine. We got to see a demo of it in action on Monday. It works by filling burrows with carbon monoxide, killing rats without the use of rodenticides, which is way better considering anticoagulants keep killing bald eagles.

I had a chance to see one of the units at 20 Stephenson in Clarendon Hill—they are nice units. I just learned there are still 80% AMI units available. It's a brand new building with nicely done units. Worth looking at if you are looking for a new place in Somerville or you know someone who is.

These sorts of things annoy me. Eversource is doing a good thing _here_, however people struggled with bills last winter because Eversource price gouged its customers via “delivery” fees. They are not saviors, they contributed to food insecurity and will eagerly hike prices again when allowed.

The Immigrant Solidarity March and Vigil had a great showing. The Somerville community really knows how to show up. The stories told at the end were moving and hard to hear. Our country has lost so much to ICE goon squads led by soulless and hateful cowards. We need to protect the people around us.

Proud to announce I've been endorsed by the UAW—my union while I was a grad student teacher at UMass Amherst where I taught while I studied. The UAW fought to get us good pay and health benefits. It's such a joy to help advocate for their work supporting working families.

Proud to join SBWU workers on the picket line today! When taking on tough fights in the face of union busting, it is so important to be alongside them in solidarity. It was great to see members of my former union UAW there as well! I will continue to show up for workers and unions in Somerville!

The results of the Somerville preliminary were amazing. I had hoped to do well, but I ran the race I wanted to. I believe good people don‘t need tons of money to get started. I also didn’t want to create plastic yard sign waste. A little money and no signs. 12 people running—I came in fourth.

Win, lose, or draw, I have an amazing family. They have supported me, kept my spirit high, and have helped me center my heart in mind throughout this campaign. My wife, Liz, is an inspiration. She spent her whole life doing good. That’s how I want to spend the rest of mine.

Here’s another. They have it upside down and it’s not an accident. What’s next? Red Sox face middle school baseball team? Local man faces ham sandwich?
