i have a book
My first child was born Friday morning. She’s beautiful. Here’s the opening chapter to my second novel (in progress), “The Sound of Many Waters.” It felt appropriate to share.
Without a doubt the sickest book signature I’ve ever seen @malarkeybooks.bsky.social
Yall mind if I sell books in front of the Criterion Collection and the Children’s Section of this Barnes & Noble?
I wrote a get-rich-quick guide for small press authors. Step one: sell this guide for $100. open.substack.com/pub/olddream...
I got more copies of my book to sell. $20! Incredible deal: You get the Southern Literary Review’s read of the month, I get money to feed my soon-to-be first child.
Yesterday was very cool for the book (see: my last post) and it finished off with this great review unsponsoredbookreviews on IG.
I found out because someone read it and emailed me that they’re buying a copy now. Ah!!
Newsletter up this morning w/ a little announcement for accountability purposes. open.substack.com/pub/olddream...
This rocked! Read the final third in one sitting this morning. The single sentence, and and and format becomes this beautiful way to move the story along. It’s gorgeous and gory and lovely Also — shoutout @eveninghouse.bsky.social for being the only bookstore on earth to have a copy pre-award
I read most of this in one sitting last night and to say it touched my soul would be taking it too lightly.
Bookstagram review of The Walls up this morning. It’s cool, to say the least, to see people talk fondly about George.
Indie Bookstore Day was very cool. The Walls sold out of its first printing. Daughters Coffee & Books was packed (only been open for a year!). People were buying all sorts of books!! Even my little historical / lit fic thing. Enough doomerism! Life rocks!
Hey! DC people! Lovers of all things @malarkeybooks.bsky.social! Reminder to come see me, @joeyhedger.bsky.social, @austinross.bsky.social, and Benjamin Warner at Kramers on May 8 for A Night of Malarkey!
