It would be ahistorical to portray McConnell as any sort of health care hero. As Senate Majority Leader during the first Trump administration, McConnell led efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which, among other things, bans insurance companies from refusing to cover chronically ill people based on their disabilities. He also voted for Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, the 2025 budget bill that has already resulted in major public health cuts and which will strip millions of people of Medicaid through administrative burden.

Question the systemic issues that make it challenging to live with a disability.

Institutionalization of Patients with Severe Mental Illness or Disabilities, Ex. 1, as supplemental
authority in support of Plaintiffs’ Motion for Summary Judgment, ECF No. 104. The Opinion
agrees with the substance of Plaintiffs’ challenge to the Final Rule’s integration mandate and
codification of liability for risk of institutionalization, concluding the Executive Branch lacks a
statutory basis to impose either requirement on the States.

Ok the site was not taken offline for at least a few hours after the problem started. This isn't true.

We identified and resolved a security incident on our site earlier today. A compromised account was exploited to inject a malicious script, briefly exposing users to scam content. The site was taken offline immediately, the script removed, and the account secured.
