Nyxies could be seen hunting at dawn and dusk along the New York waterway, and every ferry rider knew them. Their graceful six-foot wingspan was a welcome shadow on the water, and watching them dive for fish was a breathtaking delight.

All the time I’ve known her, Steph claimed that arcana isn’t technically magic, just science that interacts with a plane of reality so different from our own that it’s mistaken for magic. The Tree People supposedly practiced it before they disappeared, and even though that was centuries ago, they didn’t believe it was magic either.

So this, undoubtedly AI-written "reader" comment (1) starts out promisingly enough, with a first sentence that seems almost genuine, until you realize it's just badly rephrasing and misunderstanding a 2011 review of Kaleidotrope (2) before turning to its spam sales pitch.
